How old was your baby when you put them in proper pjs?

Sounds like a daft question but my 9 month old is a challenge to get in babygrows now as he won't sit still for long enough to fasten all the poppers!
He seems to young at 9 months to go in proper pyjamas!

Mine was 9-12 months.

Grumpbum123 · 26/10/2019 19:49

2-3

WorraLiberty · 26/10/2019 19:49

If you can find a pair to fit then he's not too young.

I think mine were about 6 months old. It made a quick nappy change at night so much easier, as I think their vests only had about 3 poppers.

Smallest pair were 9-12 months, we used a mix of them and sleepsuits for a while.

user1493413286 · 26/10/2019 19:50

12-18 months, probably just over 12 months once she was walking as the baby grows used to make her trip

spice3 · 26/10/2019 19:52

The smallest size I got was 9-12 months but he was in them by 7 months.

orangesgrapes · 26/10/2019 19:53

Around 8-9 months for that exact reason...

Missannelliot · 26/10/2019 19:53

My DD was 2! 🤦‍♀️ I loved sleepsuits, I just think they look so cute. But she was very chilled and I never had any trouble getting her into them. Do whatever makes your life easier is always my policy.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 26/10/2019 19:53

From walking. My 20 mos are in proper pjs plus a warm sleeping bag.

WorraLiberty · 26/10/2019 19:54

Mine were similar to these ones They have built in feet to keep them nice and warm.

AmyFl · 26/10/2019 19:55

Around 2 years

preggers4959 · 26/10/2019 19:57

Around 12 months same as PP more to do with her walking and tripping up. Don't think there is any harm if you start using pjs they look really cute. You could always put some socks on DC feet if you worried they will be cold.

iheartspiders · 26/10/2019 19:57

Around 3, after potty training.

Before that DS would wake up and have a nice early-morning poo in his nappy, then would feel uncomfortable and go to scratch his arse... then try to wipe his hand here, there and everywhere.

All-in-one's reduces this occurrence.

A 5am nappy change is one thing. A 5 am nappy change, sheets change and wall wash is something else.

Chillisauceboss · 26/10/2019 19:59

From walking / sofa surfing. Wooden floors and covered feet didn't work well! So about 9 months

iheartspiders · 26/10/2019 19:59

Footless rompers were ideal at that stage. Sometimes a body suit with PJ trousers UNDERNEATH (or he could still get his hands in)

Oh I'm glad we're past that stage!

joffreyscoffees · 26/10/2019 20:00

Around 6 months - she wouldn't lay down to be put in baby-grows any more so we've been in pyjamas since then.. as well as pull up nappies because she won't be changed lying down either Hmm

Chopsicle · 26/10/2019 20:03

@iheartspiders Made me laugh!!

OP posts:
Chopsicle · 26/10/2019 20:04

@joffreyscoffees My ds is the same, pooey nappies are a nightmare!!

OP posts:
starpatch · 26/10/2019 20:05

I used fleece onesie s until 3.5

TeenPlusTwenties · 26/10/2019 20:06

Mine was 3!
(Small for her age and had bad eczema so had to be creamed every night and then tubigrip leggings and top. Babygrow over kept everything less accessible.)

RandomMess · 26/10/2019 20:07

We went from baby gowns (the easiest thing ever for night nappy changes) to pjs DH struggled too much with poppers tbh

JudgeRindersMinder · 26/10/2019 20:09

Mine both had 0-3 months pjs-well they were the same ones handed down Grin. I remember putting them in dd when he was about 5/6 weeks old and the hands went right down the trousers and into his nappy-where they’ve been ever since. He’s 17 now 😂

MsMustDoBetter · 26/10/2019 20:12

2ish

Embracelife · 26/10/2019 20:13

All in ones from verbaudet and m&s upto age 9 or 10 to avoid the poo issues mentioned. (SEN)
Look just do what you like. Do what suits you and your child. No one else cares!

fartingsparkles · 26/10/2019 20:16

I know it seems little but I would just go with it OP.

Dc1 was happy in babygros til nearly 3, but dc 2 was on pjs by 18 months because they just continually undid the poppers on babygros (and dungarees etc).

Sainsbury's sell pjs with feet that are cute 🙂
