How old was your baby when you put them in proper pjs?

Sounds like a daft question but my 9 month old is a challenge to get in babygrows now as he won't sit still for long enough to fasten all the poppers!
He seems to young at 9 months to go in proper pyjamas!

I have been very wedded to all in one babygros for dd as I find them adorably cute. However she's 20mo and just grown into some hand me down dinosaur proper pjs... omg it's even cuter! Now it's chilly she wears them with a popper crotch vest underneath... @iheartspiders hope to avoid nappy/ hands/ poo sitch! Hadn't even thought of that!

When mine were little asda did them from age 3-6 months - I loved them so much easier than baby grows in the night

Cookit · 26/10/2019 20:21

18 months I think. He’d definitely been walking for some time. Sleepsuits are great.

Bought a couple of pairs in 6-9 months, but mostly 9-12 months.

ParadiseLaundry · 26/10/2019 20:25

DS2 is 12 weeks and I've been putting pjs on him at night and changing him into baby grows for the day. He seems to kick his feet into the baby grows on a night and getting frustrated when it gets stuck.

riotlady · 26/10/2019 20:25

18 months, she’s obsessed with having access to her “tum tum” xD

Samsamsuperman · 26/10/2019 20:27

Around 9-12 months

Betty777 · 26/10/2019 20:48

PJs whenever you want, but I totally rate zippered sleep suits, so much faster.
Bonds in Australia do great ones, but Gap sometimes do them too, and you can find them sometimes on Amazon. Like this:

DontLettuceBrexitLettuceRomain · 26/10/2019 20:58

She's 2 and she's massive for her age, but still not in PJs. We just use zip sleepsuits

IDontDrinkTea · 26/10/2019 21:04

Both Asda and M&S sell sleepsuits with zips... far easier than poppers

LisaSimpsonsbff · 26/10/2019 21:12

We got given a pair when he was about 9 months and I couldn't believe how stupid we'd been to be struggling nightly with sleepsuits when this alternative was available!

I will never understand the MN passion for sleepsuits and insistence that they're all babies should wear until they're two. I think they're pretty much the most annoying form that baby clothes take.

Frazzled2207 · 26/10/2019 21:43

I think when they were walking well so prob around 18m. Nothing wrong with pjs.

Celebelly · 26/10/2019 21:44

Zips! We have a few sleepsuits with zips and they are great.

Kcoffecakebubs · 27/10/2019 00:57

DS is nearly 6 months and we use a mix of sleepsuits and PJs at night. It is a lot easier without the poppers on a wriggly baby! Didn't use PJs befire he was in a sleeping bag though, as I felt he'd get cold if they rode up (again wriggly!).

Mamabear144 · 27/10/2019 06:20

I think he was about 2 months old when be wore his first pair, still used baby grows until he was nearly 1 along with pyjamas, he's never put his hand down into his nappy and just wears a normal vest not one that closes, he loves to have his belly out and rubs it in his sleep though

Sweetooth92 · 27/10/2019 06:24

6 months ish we swapped to the snuggly fit ones-we just found they stayed up/in place best.
Made life so much easier!

BertieBotts · 27/10/2019 06:24

Never did a straight swap. He had his first pair some time around 6 months once he was sitting, and he still has some sleepsuits with little grippy feet now he is 14m.

He wears a vest underneath so no worries about them riding up. But I didn't think the waistband was very comfortable when he was tiny.

I love sleepsuits, I just think they look adorable. I don't even particularly like the footless ones although we have some of them.

StinkGhoul · 27/10/2019 06:26

Try a bodysuit and pj trousers, fewer poppers but no riding up of t shirts

Kpo58 · 27/10/2019 08:10

Mine was 12 months. He just wasn't the right proportions (long body and short legs) for a sleepsuit and kept getting his legs stuck.

Tesco baby PJ's are good if your baby has a big head as they are envelope necked up til 2-3.

Allegorical · 27/10/2019 08:50

Mine started wearing a vest and Pj bottoms at about 1. If he can kicks the bottoms off I put the vest over the bottoms like superman. I do like them in a vest as the matching top can ride up ( and not catch a pooh up the back) .
