Biting your tongue and other minor failings of the human body.

Is it just me or is biting your tongue one of the most annoying things ever? That or biting the side of your mouth. There really should be some reflex that stops you from doing it.

Don't get me started on hiccups.

What minor things about the body irritate you?

Why periods ? They are so pointless- mist mammals do not have them or need them. I think it's us, bats and shrews ( may have to double check this).
At best they are inconvenient, at worst they are painful and debilitating.

Fournearlyfive · 10/10/2019 20:33

So true Buzz

Also massive fail - blushing Blush why?!

Sittinonthefloor · 10/10/2019 20:35

Teeth. Most people’s teeth just aren’t really acceptable without orthodontic treatment.

Farts. All good fun a lot of the time but distracting when you’ve got to hold one in.

Sore lips - does this happen to other species?

Stupid skin that burns in the sun - worst design ever!

BuildBuildings · 10/10/2019 20:36

Yes so annoying. Also biting the side of your mouth.

What is the point of hiccups? So annoying

Sittinonthefloor · 10/10/2019 20:37

I’ve also often felt it would be nicer for everyone if our reproductive organs weren’t in the same place as our excretory and defecatory organs.

Mumthedogsbeensick · 10/10/2019 20:39

Cramp. Bloody sodding cramp.

managedmis · 10/10/2019 20:41

Childbirth, really

I mean, seriously?

managedmis · 10/10/2019 20:41

Eczema

AudacityOfHope · 10/10/2019 20:52

That feeling when you get an itch in the roof of your mouth and it's just not possible to scratch it Hmm

Smidge001 · 10/10/2019 20:55

@thecanyon omg you are so right about that weird rib movement inner skin caught thing.

And now I'm thinking about it I can feel it going on even though I'm not moving. Aahhh, I hate that feeling so much Grin

FaerieKiss · 10/10/2019 20:58

Having a period every month, why? Why can't we just come into season twice a year like most other mammals?

Barabajagal · 10/10/2019 21:01

Getting an unbearable itch somewhere between your ear and jaw ON THE INSIDE. So you have to rub your ear while rubbing your tongue on the nearest bit of your mouth while making a sort of growling sound to make it stop. Grrr.

FatherFintanFay · 10/10/2019 21:06

Chapped lips! Why the hell?

Restless legs as soon as you get into bed.

When you can go for weeks without being particularly aware of any itchy bits, but as soon as you go for a hypnotherapy session, you suddenly desperately need to scratch your face.

BIWI · 10/10/2019 21:06

@AudacityOfHope no - what's worse is the itch inside your ear!

MagicKingdom17 · 10/10/2019 21:07

Eyebrow hair that grows in the middle.
Just no.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/10/2019 21:36

I have a slight overbite and sometimes when I sneeze I catch my top teeth on my bottom teeth and it bloody well hurts

Also, considering that we grow new cells all the time, it seems odd that we can have visible scars and stretch marks. Surely they should grow back 'new'? Do we grow new cells but still in scars? That seems like a mega design fault

Sux2buthen · 10/10/2019 21:49

The rumble of the tummy that never occurs day to day until you are in a quiet room full of people

PerkingFaintly · 10/10/2019 21:56

I hear you about tongue-biting.Angry

Plus, there's this muscle in my back right now that has decided it wants a little work-out all on its own. Little bugger's been twitching and bothering for about half an hour.

Whhhhhyyyy? What have I ever done to it?

FilthyBiscuit · 10/10/2019 22:04

Why does our hair have to run out of colour?

flissity · 10/10/2019 22:18

Why do we need sleep? Think what could be achieved if we didn’t need to spend a third of the day laying on a big square cushion in a dark room 🤔

flashingbeacon · 10/10/2019 22:25

Yes to periods and that inner ear itch but also why when you hurt something can you not stop touching it?! I’ve a snag on a nail bed and I can’t stop touching it so it stays sore and will be full of germs! Sunburn, sprained ankle, cold sore. I can’t stop poking it!

Artykitty666 · 10/10/2019 22:26

Shin bone injuries. So disproportionately sore for the level of impact. And conversely the bruise matches the level of the bang, not the pain level so you don't even get that as a reward for the suffering.

whatwouldkatyactuallydonext · 10/10/2019 22:27

Eye twitches that, the moment you ask if someone else can see them, stop and then restart when the other person's not looking!

Apolloanddaphne · 10/10/2019 22:30

Blisters on feet. Just let me wear any shoes i want painlessly.

onioncrumble · 10/10/2019 22:30

Cramp!
