Just that in a sentence.
Complained to Uber when we noticed he had driven around for 2 hours and was still charging me.
Uber has given us a credit of 35.00...which I accept is recompense and probably what they are maybe not obliged to to.
HOwever, it is theft really. He took the money. Won't give it back. Uber stepped in to cover it.
Or is this standard procedure?
If not. HOw do I take it further.

I imagine they will claim it back from him.

MsSquiz · 09/10/2019 10:37

I may be missing something, but if Uber have given you the credit for the overcharge, why do you need to take it further?

Surely it's now between Uber and the driver?

wowfudge · 09/10/2019 10:39

What does it matter to you if Uber have refunded you? It's for them to recover the money from the driver. Not your business anymore.

lolaflores · 09/10/2019 10:42

They said he declined to return it. Which means I dont think they got the money either?

If you’ve been refunded by Uber it’s nothing to do with you anymore

Countrylifeornot · 09/10/2019 10:45

You've been refunded, move on.

chipsandgin · 09/10/2019 10:47

Not your problem any more. Are there not other things to worry about than Uber’s internal admin policies?

lolaflores · 09/10/2019 10:49

Uber's internal PR?
As it goes yea...

Question answered.
Thanks

I doubt very much Uber will end up out of pocket over this.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 09/10/2019 10:53

Uber will just subtract it from his wages. What they mean by he declined is that they asked if he would refund all of part of the fare and he said no; so they've stepped in and done it for him, and they'll recover it from his wage.

MarieG10 · 09/10/2019 11:12

Believe it Uber will get it back from him. They are ruthless. If his customer ratings drop beneath 4.5 out of 5 I'm told they get removed from the App. I'm staggered he did something so stupid unless he was topping driving

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 09/10/2019 11:14

You got your refund, think of this no more.

Uber will claim it back from him, they aren’t just going to let him off or all drivers would be doing it.....

thecatsthecats · 09/10/2019 11:15

I imagine they'll either take it from his next trips, or drop him as a driver altogether.

Either way, not your problem.

Milomonster · 09/10/2019 12:16

Are you over anxious in general? This seems like a non issue given you’ve received your money...

lolaflores · 09/10/2019 12:20

Milomonster a lot of things beyond control right now and this just probably only thing I thought wouldn't be. Projecting I guess

OP posts:
ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 09/10/2019 12:22

I don’t think it’s a non issue if the driver took money he wasn’t entitled to and then refused to give it back.

Yes, OP was refunded but not by the driver. He might do this again to someone else. I think Uber have to let her know what they will do about trying to prevent further incidents like this happening.

lolaflores · 09/10/2019 12:31

I didnt think a driver could decline to return money. I cant decline to pay him.
The moneyvwasnt refunded to the credit card. . I got a credit which I then spend with them. No choice.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin No, they really don’t. OP has been refunded, which has shown that Uber won’t stand for this kind of behaviour. What Uber does with the driver is none of her business and she has no right to know more.

mabelisthebest · 09/10/2019 13:44

I see your point OP, it’s a bit shit of the driver to refuse to refund whether Uber has refunded you themselves or not. He doesn’t sound like the kind of guy I’d want to get in a car with by myself!

That being sad, Uber have refunded you themselves so you can’t really ‘take it further’ nor is there any need to.

SchrodingersMeowth · 09/10/2019 13:45

She hasn’t really been properly refunded though. It’s credit to be used with Uber which is crap!

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 09/10/2019 13:46

She's only been given credit, that's not good enough.

heartsonacake · 09/10/2019 13:58

OP doesn’t appear to have a problem with being Uber credit instead of cash. She hasn’t mentioned it in her OP.

Her issue seems to be that she wants to know what’s going to happen to the Uber driver, but she has absolutely no right to that information. It’s none of her business.

lolaflores · 09/10/2019 14:24

I have actually said I didnt think a credit was enough. I would prefer the funds transferred back to my credit card from where it was taken, without my consent.

OP posts:
lolaflores · 09/10/2019 14:25

I did t say it in my op, but it is probably the least they have to do. And...does he actually get to decline to return the money? Which is essentially not his.
