I'm up with a puking 4yo, why are you up?

She's asleep now (hence me posting) but not sure for how long.

She's been ill for a week now. Diarrhoea last Thurs and Fri, little bit of sickness Sunday accompanied by lethargy, lack of appetite. Was back at school Weds and Thurs and then about 8pm this evening began to complain of a tummy ache. Been puking since midnight.

Baby has had diarrhoea, my tummy is all over the place, DP works away Mon-Fri. Praying the 6yo escapes (but he wont!!)

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come? It's going to be a long winter.

Poor girl! I had a sickness bug a few weeks back, was not fun!! Hopefully she’s settled for the night now and will feel better in the morning... fingers crossed it doesn’t spread any more to everyone else!

Maggiemoothecoo · 04/10/2019 02:13

Coughing and very hot 2 year old. Up for medicine and loo. Think she is just about asleep again.

Cegbee · 04/10/2019 02:17

36+ weeks pregnant and cramping/braxton hicks. I'm sure it's nothing but still....

Puking 15 month old here. Perfectly fine all evening and until about midnight then suddenly was woken by him being sick / coughing / sounding like he was coming.

Now sat on the sofa with him sleeping up right on me as lying down seems to make it happen again. He's all snotty and congested so hoping it's just that that caused it. 34 weeks pregnant and we just got rid of a sickness bug Sad

123bananas · 04/10/2019 02:27

Found out a friend died, now can't sleep Sad

Hope you feel better soon, we have just finished the bug here after two weeks with it going from ds, to DH, to dd1, dd2 then me. Must be same bug as ours had a double attack too, came back to bite after we thought it had past. Invest in dioralyte give 5mls every 5 mins to keep them hydrated especially the baby (breastmilk can still be used even if vomiting either via syringe or short feeds at the breast of 30 seconds a time) coconut water and dilute juice with sugar also work for older ones that won't take dioralyte.

Hello Wide-awakers!! Sorry to hear you’re all mopping up various substances... been there, done that, over the years☹️
Have never quite got over a poorly 5 year old tottering into our room with the heart-sinking words “Mummy, I don’t feel very well” and watching in horror as he projectile vomited into a brand new pair of shoes (yet to be worn..) and all over my dressing table!!
He then said he felt much better, crawled into bed, next to his sleeping daddy and I was left cleaning it all up!!
I couldn’t face the shoes...
25 years on, I am awake because my dopey German Shepherd was barking in her dreams...
Not sure which is worse, really
Sweet dreams all! Eventually!

Also awake with a 4yo (she’s now asleep) after she had the biggest nosebleed I have ever seen. She’s got a cold, and it was so bad I called 111 and they sent an ambulance to check her over and help it stop. She’s fast asleep now but I am somewhat shaken.

Russell19 · 04/10/2019 02:35

I'm in the feeding baby club 😁

cheeseandpickle247 · 04/10/2019 02:36

Doing uni essay 😭 hope your little one gets better soon, bless her

YaySeptember · 04/10/2019 02:38

I have my 1st day's work of the new school year tomorrow so I went to bed early and fell asleep straight away. I had a work dream though (I was in class and noticed I was wearing slippers so jumped out of the window Confused ) and woke up. Now I have hayfever and can't get back to sleep.

I hope your dc get over their sicky bugs quickly! Make sure they get plenty of vitamins and hopefully they'll be able to fight off any more bugs before they take a hold 🤞

venezia222 · 04/10/2019 02:50

Sorry about all the illness as I remember night feeding as if it were yesterday.

I’m up because I have a fractured knee cap and have to wear a leg brace. Just can’t get comfortable in bed. Grrrrt.

Hope we all get some sleep soon.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 04/10/2019 02:53

We had a leak today that required an emergency electrician, then the fuel pump on the car packed in, and theres two birthdays and christmas coming up and things are already tight. I'm sat trying to budget repairs and whatnot into a budget that wont yeild- so mostly frustration is keeping me up 🤣

Snotty 10 month old baby who can't sleep.

PurpleDaisies · 04/10/2019 03:09

Combination of coughing when I lie down, period pain and caffeine related insomnia.

GrassWasGreener · 04/10/2019 03:12

3week old was hungry. All fed now. Just giving her half hour to settle before hopefully putting her back down again until the morning zzzz

Crunchymum · 04/10/2019 03:22

Wowser, so many people are still awake. Hope everyone is able to catch up on their sleep at some point.

@123bananas sorry to hear your sad news.

I'm in recovery for health anxiety / emetophobia (am awaiting another referral for the latter) so although all is quiet for the time being I'm wired and on high alert. Stupid phobia!!!

Dog wanted to go and bark at foxes, he’s gone back to sleep but my tummy is really gassy and uncomfortable so I’m still awake.

LittleSweet · 04/10/2019 03:26

I have had a bad dream, where my abusive parents told me over and over again how much they hate me. Then I realised I have a migraine starting, so I came downstairs for the medication and carbs. Anything sugary or carbs help the pain go.

JustOneLastThing · 04/10/2019 03:27

I'm on a night shift. I can think of better places to be (my bed) but it pays the bills

LittleSweet · 04/10/2019 03:28

123Bananas I'm so sorry about your friend.💐

CoffeeAndCakeEssentials · 04/10/2019 03:30

DS both needed a wee. Baby woke up, but by the time I'd made milk had gone back to sleep. But I can guarantee if I shut my eyes she'll wake up again so giving it 5mins before I dare try to sleep. Though I'm bunged up with a horrendous cold so I'm not sleeping much anyway.

Currently on holiday but going home tomorrow and I cannot wait to just get back to my own house, with my own cuppa tea in my own mug, in my own bed! It's been a fab week but I'm ready for home!

IamEarthymama · 04/10/2019 03:31

RemoveAllPicturesofRon that must have been terrifying, I do hope your little one sleeps until morning

I am full of a cold, it's dried up so my sinuses are totally bunged up, my throat feels as though it's grown a layer of hair and I am choking. What fun.
Just downloaded meditation to Aid sleep so hoping to drop off soon.

Love and Blessings to everyone with worries and sad news, illness or poorly small people xx
