It’s due to be raining for most of it where I am

I'd also reflected on the fact that this is probably the last day of 'summer', so my daughters and I donned our flip-flops and headed to the park, before pottering around the garden barefoot. Depressingly, with the forecast and time of year, it's now time for proper shoes and coats etc. I hate winter!

7 loads of laundry done yesterday and today. Going to really relish that fresh air dried bedding smell as it'll probably not happen again til next year 😭

Cut back my overgrown buddleia so that it no longer blocks the pavement and street. Should have been done earlier but it flowered longer this year so I left it. If I hadn't done it today I think my neighbours would have lynched me, possibly with my own vegetation.

Picked more rhubarb and will jam it later.

Am about to use the last of the tomatoes MIL gave me to make soup, then bring on my bedsheets from the washing line as I made sure they got an outdoor dry today.

Stuck inside a boiling hot room running a charity stall at a fair.

Gardening, and eating out.

Attempted to get to coast but so did everyone else so we went to the park and played cricket instead. Random kids joined us. Was lovely

Did some gardening, got one last section which I hope to sort out before the rain comes tomorrow.

Then I did the online World Coffee Tasting thing with James Hoffman, and then went to the allotment and harvested all the dry beans so that they don't get wet again and then pulled all the outside tomatoes up, and harvested a load of carrots and beetroots.

I did loads of gardening, took the dogs for a long walk, cleaned out the conservatory (very overdue, there was a spider colony in there), had the grandchildren round and had BBQ for tea. Perfect day.

We spent the day in London, we booked it back in February and kept it a secret from our Dcs until yesterday. We have enjoyed a fab day but my god my feet are killing me.

I did my volunteer work this morning and painted my fence this afternoon. Currently enjoying the smell of BBQ wafting over the gardens through my open back patio doors. Think half the world has had one today! I’m just about to have a corned beef sandwich. Not exciting at all. Can’t BBQ that but I can’t be bothered dragging the BBQ out so haven’t bought any stuff to cook on it. Starving. I’m off now to make said sandwich....

Housework etc to start the day, took the toddler to play park, then off to second hand sale where we got a bike seat for toddler and so went for bike ride!

We’ve been inside all day as DS has last minute 11+ prep (tests are next week 😧) and DH decided that, as we have a cleaner starting next week, we needed to clean the house ready for her 🙈🤨🤷‍♀️

Went to a stately home, though actually stayed in the garden. It was free though I didn’t know beforehand.

We spent the afternoon in the pub. I was going to spark the BBQ up and invite the kids over.
But I decided going to the pub was a better option.

Went for a long and leisurely walk plus ice cream and conversation with my mother, in her 90th year and amazingly fit and active, mentally and physically. I really value this time with her, knowing realistically that it won't be for ever.
