After days and days of threads about harrys stance on having more than two chidren. Which btw william has preached about the effect population growth has on the enviroment days after announcing he was adding to that population for the third time, and mass outrage about H&M taking a plane paid for by Elton on hoiliday and how wonderful Wills and kate were for their flybe.

Which i didn't hugely get because if the protests about tje sussexes were on ecological grounds then surely a fucking massive flybe plane has bigger engines and produces more admissions but oh look the cambridges fly economy .

So is no one actually going to mention that in fact no no they didnt fly economy at all what they did was use a massive poluting flybe plane as a private jet. Ahhh really ecological and abusolutely nothing like ecoonomy.

Did everyone really think they'd flown with everyone else? Two future kings of england flying economy? Pull the other one.

It was desogned to humilate tje little brother

The assertion is that Flybe chose to swap out the aircraft so it was one in their colours.

Flybe have made a statement saying the had nothing to do with the decision.

Also Flybe can't just say to Loganair 'sorry mate, we are doing the NWI-ABZ this morning'.

Believe less of the sensationalist journalism!

Mummy195 - please read the post from Aaarrgghhh above, which is pretty much exactly what I would have said to you in response.

I hope it helps you to get your head around it.

Mummy195 · 27/08/2019 16:40

Argh and Armi

I will repost what I said on another thread.

H&M had real threats on their lives a few moths ago and the perpetrators were jailed. A real threat, not imagined or anticipated. Neo-Nazis tend to encourage others via internet etc. as we saw in the NZ shooting investigations. It then makes sense that when an offer of a more secure means of transport comes up, they take it especially when travelling with the baby. Don't know any parent who would not.
If something happened to them or the baby, we would all be disgusted by why they risked him for an ideal.

I also pointed out the hypocrisy about praising W&K for taking a flight when they did not need it. A few posters on here pointed out that they took the train, car etc. to Aberdeen coming from further than Norwich. K&W are practically saints right now and do not have threats of danger, so going with the plebs seems fine, but why fly? Bearing in mind that W flew to have the talk ( or bleating / preaching as you call it with H on MN) with David Attenborough.

I also explained to another poster that K&W cannot be seen as taking the most convenient way, that is fine , but not for H&M.

In general, I have no problem with people talking about climate change.

Hope you can get your "heads around' this explanation .

I completely agree @scotwood .... hence my use of the word "assertion" 😀

Like much in the media .... there's always some truth in a story. How much and which bits depends who's telling the story and who's listening (or not!)

Empty planes are flown all over the world for various reasons.

The real ecological damage which has been done to the planet, has been from rather more complex occurrences.

Chernobyl.
Fukushima.
Exxon Valdez.
Deep Water Horizon.
The burning of the Rain Forrest.
The Phobal incident.
The death of Lake Victoria.

I could go on.

Flying is actually "greener" than driving. The emissions per passenger are slightly less when the figures are examined.

But hey, airplanes are an easy target, I get that, and it's convienient to ignore the real dangers, nobody writes headlines about those.

Mummy195 It’s my understanding that there is actual airport security at airports and all. - I don’t buy the ‘safer on a private jet’ stuff for a moment. Statistically speaking, private jets are far less safe than commercial flights. I also think multiple private jet flights in a short space of time is just taking the piss - they had just had a luxurious holiday, after all.

With regards to your continued insistence that K&W could have taken the train, well of course they could.....but clearly didn’t want to and nor would I with three small kids and a train full of nosey people with phones - now that’s a security risk. Nine hours (about the time it takes to get from Norwich to Aberdeen) on a train and word would get out sharpish they were on it. It wouldn’t take much for the dangerous loons of the world to swoop into action. Trains, after all, stop at timetabled stations and can’t take evasive action if some random wants to lob an explosive their way, or fire a gun through the window or attempt to derail the train en route.

I hope this further assists you in your understanding of the situation.

Aaarrgghhh · 28/08/2019 12:48

Armi Your response is basically what mine would have been. Who would travel for seven hours on a train when they can fly for what? Under an hour? Some people can’t seem to think and then feel they have made some amazing point when in reality they haven’t.

Mummy195 · 28/08/2019 15:11

Oh dear, Armi and Argh

So it was a hypocritical pubicity stunt .....W&K take and empty jet to SCOTLAND and everyones gone quiet. Interesting
ChloeDecker · 28/08/2019 18:21

No, you are missing the point Mummy.

Don’t preach to others about how we must be more environmentally friendly and virtue signal the fact you will only have two children for environmental reasons and then be hypocritical and fly private jets to ‘Google’ conferences and holidays in a very short space of time (including flying in private jets before they were threatened).

Point=don’t be a hypocrite.

Aaarrgghhh · 29/08/2019 10:53

Mummy195 Well, that’s a bit embarrassing. It is you that is missing the point but okay then. I guess you think it’s fine to be a hypocrite then.
