How many Gherkins is too many in a salad?

I've been chopping up 2 for a salad - and wondered if any more would just spoil it.

There's quite a few gherkin haters on this thread already. I used to be one of these in my 20s. I would say 'no gherkins' to the person serving my burger etc.

Now at the grim old age of 55 I am embracing the gherkin. I love the smell when you open the jar. I think I might be missing some important mineral in my diet that the gherkin is providing.

Either that, or I am simply losing my mind since going through the menopause?? Perhaps a bit of both?
