Does anyone else hate the wind?

I know it's pointless disliking weather and I try not to , rain keeps our countryside green and beautiful etc etc but. I. Hate. The. Wind. It's blowing a gale (which is drying the laundry i'll grant it that) and it's making it a nightmare to be outside and I really hate the sound of howling wind.

My friend is a teacher she loathes the wind - says it makes some children horrendous to manage.

I live in the south of England so can be fairly confident that no weather here is going to kill me. I quite like the extremes of cold and heat because they are a novelty. I love a thunderstorm - they are usually short-lived and you can get yourself safely inside. But severe wind really scares me. And I get agitated on mildy windy days, if not exactly nervous.

itbemay1 · 18/08/2019 20:28

@taybert me too!! Makes me really annoyed!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/08/2019 20:31

I hate the unpredictable nature of it, eg. Today- lovely sunny day, go outside, wind is cold. Go inside for jumper, come out, wind has died down. Jumper off, wind starts again... I gave up in the end and went inside, although I felt like I was wasting a good day.

I do love running in the wind though!

Me. It gives me the rage. Blowing down the overhead wires on the railway, blowing trees onto the line, wrecking fences, generally being a pain in the arse Angry

It chaps my skin and lips! I get irritated by the wind and hate my hair blowing in my face

midsomermurderess · 18/08/2019 21:11

It makes cycling such hard work.

IceniSky · 18/08/2019 21:15

Love it! Makes me energetic, and feel like I can concur the world! I love having my windows open and have it swirling around my bedroom as I sleep ! Sends my cat loopy.

Glad to see so many wind haters. I think it’s the combination of the fact that it stops me being able to see (hair in eyes) or hear properly and that it’s like walking around with a massive, unseen, unruly toddler. Hair in your eyes? No problem, just tuck it behind your ear- except the fucking wind will blow it in again whilst simultaneously screaming in your ears.

Also, it makes me look stupid when I’m running really hard into it then it suddenly drops and I nearly fall over.

Bastard!

Lindormilk · 18/08/2019 22:22

I love it! I embrace all weathers. If I don’t id be inside all winter. I go out for walks in wind and rain, its refreshing.

Cobblersandhogwash · 18/08/2019 22:59

Windy days make me feel really agitated.

dylandkelly1998 · 24/02/2020 15:04

Yes. I hate this weather during winter seasons. -_-

pinkrocker · 24/02/2020 15:11

Hate it. The continually changing air pressure winds me up, the wind howling down the blocked up chimney in my rented house rustles a plastic bag that's stuck in there all night
Plus my class turn into twitchy ninjas of mischief. Bring on Summer!

When I taught at an FE college, the wind always made students agitated over weird stuff. Every school teacher I know says high winds make kids loopy. Most animals hate strong wind and will act up.
