I want a glorious scented candle! Help!

I want a gorgeously scented candle basically! I’ve never lived in a house that I can use a candle in until now and I want to celebrate with a candle!

A friend uses Esteban candles which are stunning but seems to be super hard to get more then a basic range of scents.

I don’t like Yankee candles

I like fresh clean scents, not to sweet.

Thank you Grin

Neom and Diptyque are the best by far - cheaper brands sadly don't have the same throw or longevity. Candles are one of the few things I consider worth splashing out on!

Hoghgyni · 15/08/2019 20:24

Scandinavisk Fjord (hints of apple & blackberry) or St Eval Seasalt are my two favourites.

Lower Lodge Candles do a beautiful range online.

Well, I came onto the thread to say I love Yankee candles, but see you don't like them lol.
Oh well Grin
As a complete candle addict, I'm following this thread with interest.
Fainting at some of the prices though Shock
I thought £20 for the Yankees I like was enough, the hundreds of pounds ones on here though?! Blimey.
Other ones which are really nice are the ones from m Home Bargains.
They're less than a fiver, think they're called Wickford and Co?
They're gorgeous and you seriously wouldn't think they were that cheap.

HC-M06 from Hamish Candles is an unbelievably devine fragrance.
Their candles are all hand poured and made with soy wax as opposed to paraffin wax that give off toxins during the burn.

I picked up a bargain in Homesense!

Only £24.99

Currently on their site for £72

There were two sets and I bought one but I’m going back tomorrow to get the other if it’s still there.

Overose Nudesse is the most sublime candle in exsistence. It smells like a rose garden in the rain, not sickly at all it's fresh and earthy at the same time.

Mollie and Fred have a gorgeous range of scented candles, they're really affordable and delivery anywhere in the UK is free too!

Jo Malone is now owned by Estee Lauder. The actual Jo Malone herself has now restarted a new company called Jo Loves. I buy from there as they are actually her created scents and candles.... not a mass company using her name

I used to love Yankee but I've been really disappointed by the last few , very 'wax' smelling .

I looked in TKMaxx/Homesense they have shelves of them, I think 'Oh that smells nice' but then I have to try and find the one (out of 100s) that has the smell.

I found one that was lovely , Pumpkin and Apple , in a heavy glass bowl, 3 wicks about £15 .
I was this close > < to buying it , then decided my new cats would wreck it, burn their whiskers or choke on the smell. So I didn't .

Small business support is good and they are ethical. I love the wood wick, these ones crackle very gently.

At eval are fab, really lovely natural scents and fairly reasonable too. Neom are gorgeous too but pricier.

Recommending candles is a minefield as tastes vary so much. One woman’s fresh is another ones metallic etc.

I rate these candles - if you buy the gift box they work out at £10. They burn very clean and last a long time.

The company below also does all their candles as wax melts which last 4/5 hours. It’s a good way to try out different scents and see what you like before committing to the actual candles. I particularly like the sparkling lemon and the orange blossom. I’m actually burning one now in my kitchen to try and offset the gloom outside.

Sainsburys peony and rose

Ahwig · 08/07/2020 14:12

The white company verbena or pomegranate. Not as expensive as jo malone but still gorgeous

MrsAmaretto · 08/07/2020 14:25

I've just bought a beautiful candle from "Isle of Skye Candles" the highland gorse one. I'd definitely recommend them, also Timeless Candles are wonderful.

Both are small independent companies.

allmycats · 08/07/2020 14:40

White Company candles lare lovely, last for ages and you can smell them even when they're not burning. I have a lovely woodland/forest smelling one. Truthfully I have tried Aldi and the smell does not last

Usually find Parks candles on Brand Alley site with hefty discounts.
