We are going on holiday to Southwold soon with our 12 year old dd. We've been many times before so we are looking for any new ideas for places to visit with dd. We tend to visit Aldeburgh, Snape, Dunwich and Orford Ness. Can you suggest any good places to visit. She loved Bewilderwood in Norfolk, but it's a bit too far to travel. Is there anything like that in Suffolk? Thanks.

Yup. House in the clouds.

If it's wet there's a Sealife centre at Yarmouth.
The speed boat trips out of Southwold are brilliant! We did the seal watching one.

Get the foot ferry over to Walberswick and go crabbing.

The Southwold Railway Trust have opened up ‘Steamworks’ just down the old trackbed west of the police station.
They’re open Wednesdays & Saturdays in the summer months. There’s a miniature railway and a tearoom, and you’ll get to learn about their plans to reopen the long-closed Southwold Railway.
A very friendly bunch of volunteers.
