Is there any way this was not posted on 25th?

Could it have been posted before this date and this sticker still read 25th somehow? I’m having a dispute with someone who is swearing blind that they posted it on Monday but this is what’s on the parcel. Thanks!

That’s the sticker that will have been printed off in the post office when it was weighed and paid for to be posted. The date (25th July) is the date the payment and posting took place. It wasn’t posted on Monday.

tectonicplates · 26/07/2019 17:00

Did they say if they posted it first or second class? I wonder if it was originally planned to be posted second class, but when the seller couldn't get to the post office until Thursday they sent it first class to catch up with the timing?

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:04

They said it was posted first class on Monday. I needed it for yesterday and all week they’ve been saying they posted it and berated me for not having more sympathy for the poor postmen who have been struggling in the heat, and I’m very selfish for not considering them Grin

so she’s definitely a lying cow then?

clearly posted on the 25th July 2019 (yesterday)
of course, if she believes that she posted it on Monday she will no doubt have the proof of posting or receipt showing that... Wink

ShatFic · 26/07/2019 17:08

Yep I'd say she's lying

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:09

Precisely! Something tells me she’s not going to reply to my last message attaching the picture...

OP posts:
tectonicplates · 26/07/2019 17:11

Yes she's lying.

Is the item of any use to you, or was it for a one-off event?

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:17

Yes it was for a wedding tomorrow, and I had to leave to travel before the post this morning. It arrived at my mum’s at lunchtime today and she sent me the pic. It’s really annoying as I messaged her on Saturday before I bought it, asking if there was any way she could post it on Monday as I needed it for yesterday at the latest, wouldn’t have mattered if she’d said no as I could have bought another one but she assured me she would send it first class. I messaged her a couple of times during the week politely asking if it had been sent ok which she ignored, then when it didn’t arrive yesterday I messaged her saying I was upset as I had really needed it and if she couldn’t post it she should have let me know, and she sent me two incredibly long messages about how the postmen have been struggling (the one who delivered the rest of the post yesterday seemed perfectly fine) and tried to guilt trip me - actually I’ll post the messages in photos as they’re utterly batshit Grin

HollowTalk · 26/07/2019 17:19

It could have been posted after that date (if she asked the post office to put a sticker on and then forgot to put it into the box - though the post office staff usually do that directly) but it couldn't have been posted before.

tectonicplates · 26/07/2019 17:19

Was this on Ebay? I think it might be possible to make a PayPal claim.

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:22

Such a detailed attempted guilt trip!

Yeah I will send the bag back and get the money but it’s the inconvenience and dishonesty that has really pissed me off.

The extra annoying thing is when this bag didn’t arrive I ordered another bag on amazon prime yesterday to be delivered to a relative near the wedding venue today, and it didn’t arrive either 😫

What has her being a carer and a ‘nana’ got to do with anything?!

MrMeSeeks · 26/07/2019 17:28

If u send it back don't send it at your expense

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:28

@SoyDora I don’t know but I think I’m supposed to feel guilty about it

You have to love her cheek. Why would the parcel have the 25th on it if was supposedly posted on the 22nd. The sob story guilt trip is neither here nor there if she cannot answer that very simple question.

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:32

The thing is, it’s not even really a sob story, she works with terminally ill people (allegedly) but she is not ill herself nor is she a postman suffering with heat exhaustion so...?

Clearly the extreme heat must have caused the post office computer system to jump ahead in time and print off labels for the future

Ask her which post office it was so you can ring and let them know

She's trying to imply she's a much more compassionate person that you are. Hence her sympathy for terminally ill people and the postal service and add in she's a nana don't you know.

I would ask her outright for proof of postage to collaborate her story as you find it mind boggling that the parcel says the 25th.

She's only trying to spin you a tale as she knows she fucked up.

Dolphinia · 26/07/2019 17:41

@SmellbowSpaceBowl yes exactly. My own job actually involves death and bereaved people on a daily basis so I’m aware there is real suffering in the world. But I’m still allowed to be upset about my lack of bag! I’m not going to get into a ‘who has the saddest job’ competition with her though Grin

Binglebong · 26/07/2019 17:43

Apart from anything else, if it was lost she could file a claim with Royal Mail. So no, she wouldn't have lost "money and bag". Open a claim. Seriously, do. Shouldn't get away with lying, promising then not doing something and definitely not trying to guilt you!

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 26/07/2019 17:44

Omg yes she can fuck right off, open a dispute and get your money back. If she pulls similar again she'll be booted off ebay, and good riddance.

TheJoxter · 26/07/2019 17:50

Ask her for a photo of the proof of postage, it should have a date on top (definitely posted on 25th)
