If you had £100 to spend in John Lewis...

... what would you buy? I unexpectedly received £100 John Lewis vouchers as recompense for a minor inconvenience Smile. I feel I would like to use them to treat myself (I rarely have £10 spare to do this, so to have £100 feels like all my birthdays have come at once!).
I've not a clue what to spend them on though, so I'd love some ideas.

My first stop would be the Dior counter! If you aren’t interested in perfume or make-up, I’d suggest maybe a new crockery set?

Orlandointhewilderness · 24/07/2019 16:54

I had a £50 voucher recently and bought myself a pair of converse. Best money I've ever spent on shoes!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 24/07/2019 16:55

Clothes, underwear, shoes? They sell lots of good brands.

I'd find another £350 and buy a candle

A bit of le crueset? Or save it and spurge on lovely Christmas decorations when they hit the shelves?

Chocolatedaim · 24/07/2019 17:03

Le crueset

Or,
I would go mad on some really beautiful stationary. A lovely ink pen and diary, and a pack of notecards.

Camomila · 24/07/2019 17:04

Atm a sling and a few fancy baby grows with zips.

Otherwise maybe something nice for the house like some nice storage baskets.

keepingbees · 24/07/2019 17:05

I'd probably get a nice handbag or posh bedding. Whatever will put a smile on your face Smile

Knittedjimmychoos · 24/07/2019 17:05

Google home or Google mini if still on offer, nice sheets, silk pillow cases.. In fact I'd go for silk pillow cases.

britnay · 24/07/2019 17:51

Charlotte Tilbury counter

WellTidy · 24/07/2019 17:59

Lovely sandals!

If there isn’t anything you particularly need, how about upgrading some things or something that you already have? Kitchen things (baking, cooking, serving, drinking), bathroom things (I’m not thinking toiletries, more towels, bath mat, tooth toothbrush holder, bin and the like), something for the house like a lamp or rug?

Or perfume, make up, purse or a bag for you?

concernedforthefuture · 24/07/2019 20:54

@oldwhyno That is one ridiculously expensive candle Confused

I like the idea of upgrading some kitchen utensils Smile.

NaturalBornWoman · 24/07/2019 21:08

Please don't buy kitchen utensils if you never have any spare money to spend on yourself. Well not unless you have a passion for kitchen utensils obviously.

Funnily enough I've got £100 for a minor inconvenience and I'm putting it towards a lamp which I've fallen for but is a bit spendy. Normally I'd use it for clothes or cosmetics.

What would you rather - something decorative for the house, something useful or something to wear?

Theimpossiblegirl · 24/07/2019 21:21

Gin from Waitrose
Gin

PetrichorRain · 24/07/2019 21:24

I’m all about the soft furnishings in John Lewis. A lovely soft blanket or throw? Or bedding?

confusedjuly2019 · 24/07/2019 21:28

Not luxury but earlier this week I spent £45 in JL on the first (electric) fan I've ever bought.........it's certainly earned its' 'keep' here in the last 48 hoursGrin.

OKBobble · 24/07/2019 21:30

I just had the same and most of mine went on the Charlotte Tilbury counter you will pleased to hear grumpbum

WisestIsShe · 24/07/2019 21:30

Lovely, good quality bedding?

boatyardblues · 24/07/2019 21:33

Gin from Waitrose

Our nearest John Lewis has a posh spirits and champagne section. I’d spend it all on posh booze and chocolates.

GnomeoNameo · 24/07/2019 21:34

Quality bedding.
Or if you like cooking, a really quality pan/Le Creuset casserole.
