High waisted shorts can fuck off and die

I'm a normal size 12 human woman and I can't find a normal fucking pair of fucking shorts that isn't high waisted camel toe wedgie inducing, apart from M&S mum shorts which I'm not quite ready for.

Fuck sake. Can't we have normal or low rise back? They were so much more flattering on a slightly tubby apple shape person.

I’m the opposite! High waisted looks and feels great on me.

I loathe anything low rise!

CaptainPovey · 23/07/2019 20:57

I have cut down my old jeans

Woop woop

Constance1234 · 23/07/2019 20:58

High waists are my c-section ruined stomachs friends! I never pull them up so tightly that I get a wedgie though! I like ones from Gap & H&M :)

I'm jealous, they look soooo shite on me.

I've got slim legs and a wobbly tummy. Obvs I could do something about my gut but I can't be arsed and I don't generally mind being slightly rounded.

I just want some damn shorts.

OP posts:
Constance1234 · 23/07/2019 21:01

Have you tried going a size up if they seem too tight/wedgie inducing around the ahem groin area?

Elzbells · 23/07/2019 21:04

I've just got some nice ones from Tesco actually. A couple of combat style and a couple that are flowey like a shirt.

Not at all mumsey but flattering and comfy on my belly.

sneakypinky · 23/07/2019 21:04

Hmmm but then I'll have to admit I'm not a 12 anymore.

Better idea than losing weight though.

Kpo58 · 23/07/2019 21:04

I want to buy some shorts, but all the ones I see in the shops are the hotpants type. Why do they not give some leg on women's shorts?

LightDrizzle · 23/07/2019 21:05

They can indeed fuck right off. I'm a generously arsed size 10 and my behind looks like two steamed Christmas puddings suspended in the muslim cloth. I think it looks worse with a relatively small waist. Big old bum cheeks swelling seemingly yards below the waistband.

Elzbells · 23/07/2019 21:05

And I'm the same shape as you - skinny legs but frequently asked if I'm pregnant again ffs

ghostmouse · 23/07/2019 21:06

I've got some walking trousers that you can take the legs off. So comfy and practical

wineandsunshine · 23/07/2019 21:09

I'm in shorts hell too! Size 12 are tight...last year they bloody fit me!
I don't want to buy new ones, I just want my old ones to fit 🤣🤣

Biancadelrioisback · 23/07/2019 21:14

I have never, ever owned a pair of shorts. Regardless of how big or little I've been, they ride up in the crotch as I walk.
Think I have a whirlpool up there

puppy23 · 23/07/2019 21:17

No no no I love my shorts highwaisted! Anything low rise just looks hideous on me

Titsywoo · 23/07/2019 21:19

They make people look like they have really weird long bums I think.

Almost worse is the high waisted and high leg bikini bottoms www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-mix-and-match-crinkle-high-leg-high-waist-bikini-bottom-in-sorbet-coral/prd/12640891?clr=sorbet-coral&colourWayId=16441495&SearchQuery=bikinis

Wavyheaded · 23/07/2019 21:22

I got a great denim pair from fatface last year, mid-rise, really comfy and generously cut. I hate high waist too as I have a small waist but a big belly and it sticks right out, it's awful.

These are like the ones I got:

Mesmeri · 23/07/2019 21:22

Shorts are for exercise or house work as far as I'm concerned. So elastic waist only. If I want to look nice in hot weather I wear a dress or thin, flappy trousers.

ForalltheSaints · 23/07/2019 21:23

Thank you OP for having some sense of style, and I hope you can find them.

Mesmeri · 23/07/2019 21:24

Those do look good, though Wavyheaded... but denim in hot weather...?

sneakypinky · 23/07/2019 21:24

Thanks wavy, think I might order those and see how they feel. They don't look too minge outlining.

OP posts:
Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 23/07/2019 21:26

This stomach does not do lowrise

Wavyheaded · 23/07/2019 21:35

sneakypinky - no minge! they get baggier as you wear them. But I like that

Mesmeri - I wore them in Croatia last year in 35 degrees heat! Yeah they were a bit warm .. but I still love them.

MrsGrammaticus · 23/07/2019 21:36

Yes I put a pair on recently (aged 48 sized 12).....my two teen DC's started making gagging noises which I didn't take to be as a thumbs up! 😝

Nothingcomesforfree · 23/07/2019 21:42

I am not a fan. More material highlights the fact you have more to hide. Not sure even skinny people don’t look trussed up. It’s a fashion like any other to make you buy what’s popular,
Second hand, cut down what you have or buy from non “fashion” outlets.

See bikinis. It fools no one.

theliverpoolone · 23/07/2019 21:46

I tried some on in M&S this week and they did indeed look like hotpants - they came off pretty sharpish! The only ones that looked half-decent, and that I ended up with, were in Next.
