Haven’t thought about him in years, but just replayed some of his songs on YouTube.

He had a very clever way with words.

Bang Bang!

scaryteacher · 18/07/2019 22:29

God yes, I remember him. Had a bit of a crush at the time.

SunnySomer · 18/07/2019 22:30

Didn’t he sing about being in the kitchen at parties? If so, then yes

MrsPatrickDempsey · 18/07/2019 22:32

To be or not to be my lover.....

Or something like that

SunnySomer · 18/07/2019 22:32

Oh no, just googled- not on his wiki page

SwingoutSisterSledge · 18/07/2019 22:33

One of my favourite 80's songs . Bang Bang the mighty fall

NaToth · 18/07/2019 22:33

I think the kitchen at parties thing might have been Jonah Lewie, but loved B A Robertson.

To be or not to be my lover, in hardback or in paper cover ...

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 18/07/2019 22:35

Je Suis Un Rock Star...

Practically as much french as I still know

Fabellini · 18/07/2019 22:35

I loved him - he wrote some very clever and funny lyrics. He did some acting too I think.

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 18/07/2019 22:36

...except I now don’t think that was him....

Bigearringsbigsmile · 18/07/2019 22:37

Je suis un rock star was plastic Bertrand

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 18/07/2019 22:39

OMG THAT WAS BILL WYMAN. At pretty much the same time as BA.

And to think I wanted to be an NME journalist.

If I had more self respect I’d ask for my contributions to be deleted

ExpletiveDelighted · 18/07/2019 22:39

Je Suis un Rock Star was Bill Wyman. Ca Plane Pour Moi was Plastic Bertrand.

Limer · 18/07/2019 22:40

Bill Wyman. Read the lyrics. And remember his relationship with the 13-year-old Mandy Smith.

GreenTuftyFlowers · 18/07/2019 22:41

Yes was catchy teen fodder. So good!

AutumnCrow · 18/07/2019 22:42

Bang bang. I remember that.

GreenTuftyFlowers · 18/07/2019 22:43

What did BA stand for?

MorrisZapp · 18/07/2019 22:44

He was Scottish wasn't he? Cool in a Kaftan rings a bell?

BananaBeforeBed · 18/07/2019 22:51

Cool in the Kalyan. Knocked it off, bang bang, to be or not to be - great stuff.

I think he was Brian.

I remember him as being the epitome of 80s slick.

Just re-watched the videos on Youtube. They are not as slick as I recall Grin

ChicCroissant · 18/07/2019 23:05

I remember BA Robertson and liked his songs.

I think he's got quite a distinctive style, but apparently not by the number of other people he's been confused with on here Grin

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/07/2019 23:33

B A Robertson. No.

B A Baracus. Yes. Quit your jibber jabber.

Cocolapew · 18/07/2019 23:34

He was always great fun on Saturday Swap Shop

janesmore · 18/07/2019 23:39

Loved him! Bang Bang!!!

wowfudge · 18/07/2019 23:40

Multi-coloured Swap Shop.

BA Robertson doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
