What's your favourite kind of shopping?

I'm addicted to second hand book stores. I was in Edinburgh recently and it's second hand book heaven. I love books generally but new bookstores don't thrill me in the same way. I love the element of surprise with second hand books, not to mention the cheaper prices.

I'm also addicted to delis and Asian/Polish/Caribbean stores. I'm always looking for new snacks and drinks to try or to find the perfect balsamic onions and pate.

If you enjoy shopping what are your favourite types of shops?

Does no one else share my love of second hand book stores?

I love a second hand book shop too, but they’re few and far between round here now.

My favourite is make up shopping - I can browse and try and swatch for hours!

PineappleSeahorse · 17/07/2019 21:11

They're few and far between here too but in Edinburgh there's too many to count. I was in heaven. Unfortunately I had little time and had places to be so had to satisfy myself with just two books but I'll be back.

Kids clothes!

PineappleSeahorse · 17/07/2019 21:14

I don't wear makeup but I can imagine how addicting for it could be. There's so much choice.

Makeup shopping is my absolute favourite - no contest! Particularly the makeup counter type. My second favourite is skin care. I hate shoe shopping and find clothes shopping a real chore. I’m a good size 14 so can’t just choose whatever I like the look of. I’m always really conscious about whether it is flattering/slimming. Whereas makeup shopping always makes me feel good.

JingsMahBucket · 17/07/2019 21:18

For me it’s kitchen stores as well as gourmet / organic food stores or open air food markets. I’m bougie as fuck and I don’t care. Yes, I'll pay for that stinky French cheese with extra mold, thank you very much.

StumpyinSomerset · 17/07/2019 21:19

The only shopping I enjoy is book shopping. Usually on a well known website.

PineappleSeahorse · 17/07/2019 21:20

I forgot to add that I also love charity shops for books, but nothing beats a real secondhand book shop, unless it's a secondhand bookshop with a cafe.

Shopping in a local outdoor market or even a supermarket on a European holiday.

Iamtooknackeredtorun · 17/07/2019 21:21

Homeware.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 17/07/2019 21:22

Oh, sorry OP, from your thread title I thought you were interested in other people's favourite shops - not just your own .

Tryingtogetitright · 17/07/2019 21:23

I love hunting for bargains in charity shops and TK Maxx and the dregs of sale rails. Clothes and accessories are my favourite things to shop for.

PineappleSeahorse · 17/07/2019 21:24

I am interested in everyone's favourite shops.

myidentitymycrisis · 17/07/2019 21:28

I like going to the garden centre

Millie2013 · 17/07/2019 21:32

I love French supermarkets and shopping for horse stuff!

Herocomplex · 17/07/2019 21:34

Liberty twenty years ago. Daunts bookshop. Antiques and junk shops. John Lewis with an unexpected price matching event. Museum shops in foreign countries. French supermarkets. Woolworths in the Feb half-term when the DC’s needed entertainment. The local shop when I need chocolate.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 17/07/2019 21:34

Yarn shops and cross stitch kits.
Clothes, handbags, shoes, books, jewellery,, make up
Gardening, furniture, cars.

It’s mostly window shopping though

Mumof1andacat · 17/07/2019 21:38

Charity shop shopping. Wanted another pair of summery type trousers the other day and managed to get a lovely black linen pair for £3!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/07/2019 21:41

Books, either new or secondhand, with yarn a very close second.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 17/07/2019 21:48

Online shopping, particularly clothes and make up/skincare

keepingbees · 17/07/2019 21:48

Charity shops, I get lovely quality clothes for myself and DC, books and toys for next to nothing. I love that you never know what you might find.

Lozz22 · 17/07/2019 21:49

Homeware
Garden
Craft

Totally detest clothes and food shopping and I probably wear make up twice a year if that
