What temperature do you consider to be beach weather?

I mean proper, splashing in the sea, kids in swimsuits beach weather not fleeces huddling against the wind it is to be 21 by the sea in Essex this Friday and I was going to take the DC before the school holidays start properly.

Depends on what you like, but 21 would be fine for my family and me. A whole day in full on sun is a bit overwhelming( and I’m an olive skinned sun lover), so 21 with a little cloud can be a great beach day .

Over 20 x

At 21 degrees, we'd go early and leave by 10, or leave it till after 6! I wouldn't swim in the sea below 18 or so, depending on water temperature.

21 for us! But kids would be in bathing suits and fleeces... they don’t swim just paddle.

22 and up

Over 19 degrees for the kids. Although I'm in NI so a beach day for me usually just means the rain is falling vertically not horizontally .

About 35° so thankfully I'm never likely to have to agree to it.

Depends on the wind direction and the way the beaches face. I live on the east coast and if it's a north wind it can be chilly on the beach but boiling in the garden.

18? possibly less, find a sheltered spot.

God 21 is artic - no way for me but then I need it to be touching 30 degrees to go near the sea!

For us it isn't just about temperature but about sun too - so today where we are (North Devon) it's 19C and very pleasant, but cloudy and breezy. Which means freezing if you come out of the sea, and that won't do.

Yesterday it was 21C and very sunny, so we went to the beach and swam in the sea.

20+ with clear sunny skies and no wind

'not raining' counts for us, we decide when we get there how many layers we wear as it depends on wind etc, but it's still a fun day out

30+ to go in the sea
20+ I will walk along with my feet ankle deep

Five year old ds-23°+
Three year old dd- anything above freezing.

20° plus. Last year I sweltered in 30° for 6 weeks.....took kids down to Devon in early August & the weather broke. 16°-18° most days & only got on the beach twice that week. Going next Saturday.....hoping for better weather this time around.

We've been today (with toddler's) and it was a consistent 22 degrees and was perfectly pleasant. There was numerous school groups and they were in and out of the water swimming. We paddled but the children are younger

Anything over 20 but I am Irish and don't have any high expectations when it comes to high temperatures

About 17 if it's sunny, with shortie wetsuits.

I’d consider going to the beach for lunch or a walk if it was 21 degrees but that’s way to cold for swimsuits and swimming. For that it would have to be 30 or there abouts.

Minimum 25 and no wind...

Anything above 18 for us if it's dry and sunny . But we are from Scotland so anything above 18 is a good day!

Over 21 in swimmers but over 16 with a wetsuit
