Applying for passports for two DDs. Do I list their place of birth as London or the district/borough they were born!? Can't find any help online. TIA.

District/borough.
Basically, whatever it says on the birth certificate!

kingseven · 09/07/2019 19:22

Thought so as the birth very states borough not London. Thanks!

Yes, what it says on the birth certificate (I.e. Westminster/Bromley/kensington/Putney).

reluctantbrit · 09/07/2019 19:58

I agree, birth certificate is what counts. We live in Bromley but the hospital is in Orpington and this is what it says on her passport despite Orpington being a part of Bromley.

Janleverton · 09/07/2019 20:00

I have 2 children born at the hospital above. Birth certificate for eldest says Bromley and middle child says Farnborough! When it’s not really. But have just gone with what the birth certificate said. Last one born at home so no confusion.

reluctantbrit · 09/07/2019 20:52

It seems even Bromley registrar is not able to get a straight forward solution.

mexicantaco · 09/07/2019 20:54

DH was born is Guy's and his passport just states London.

mexicantaco · 09/07/2019 20:55

In Guy's*

BendingSpoons · 09/07/2019 21:03

DH has London, DD has the borough, DS and I have the specific place! All match our birth certificates.

LordScamperdale · 09/07/2019 21:35

DS was born in Guy's B Cert says "Bermondsey".

PeonyTruffle · 09/07/2019 21:40

My DS was also born at the above mentioned hospital and has Farnborough on his passport

underneaththeash · 09/07/2019 21:43

We’ve always put London.

OKBobble · 09/07/2019 21:51

Mine just says London

Mac47 · 09/07/2019 21:57

Dd's has the specific area, rather than the local authority or London.

iogo · 09/07/2019 21:59

My husband's says Lewisham.

Padiana · 09/07/2019 22:07

Mine says the name of my London Borough

ArchMemory · 09/07/2019 22:11

Both sons born in same London hospital and Registered at same town hall. I wrote the same info on both passport forms (at different times) copied from birth certificates but one passport came back with borough on passport and other has local town Confused

Violetroselily · 09/07/2019 22:12

Mine says the name of my borough, same as my birth certificate

Vinorosso74 · 09/07/2019 22:12

DD and DP were born in the same hospital (obviously a number of years apart) his passport says London, hers the borough name. Me, I wasn't born in that London.

Winenotttea · 09/07/2019 22:24

I was born in London Hospital, Whitechapel and my passport says London.

Camomila · 09/07/2019 22:30

DSs passport says Croydon. Not sure what DHs says (born in Paddington)

randomsabreuse · 09/07/2019 22:32

I have London Borough of Brent...

NigellasGuest · 09/07/2019 22:34

DD's says Chelsea (Chelsea & Westminster hospital)

AuntieJuice · 09/07/2019 22:36

Mine just says London, born late 80s in Dulwich

Winenotttea · 09/07/2019 22:36

Just checked my BC didn’t that has registration area of Stepney, admin area of Tower Hamlets. It also says London Hospital, Stepney rather than Whitechapel, anyway passport still just says London!
