What do I need to buy from John Lewis?

I received £150 of John Lewis vouchers unexpectedly. Wise people of Mumsnet, what should I buy with it? It's a lot of money to me, so I don't want to waste it (I mean by using it for stuff for the kids etc like I usually would)!

Bedding?

EssentialHummus · 01/07/2019 18:36

When do they expire? I’d be minded to spend on xmas etc.

Glitterandunicorns · 01/07/2019 18:39

@EssentialHummus ordinarily I would use them for presents for Christmas, but this once I'm going to get myself something nice!

Hold on to it until you find something you love!

I look at JL website constantly - particularly their clothing offers. You can get a wide range of brands, which is great.

Dresses
Make up
Perfume
Handbag
Jacket/coat
Footwear
Fancy pyjamas/robe

Stock up on your skin care products?

thetwoshow · 01/07/2019 18:48

What a lovely dilemma
Def luxury bedclothes - you'll have the pleasure of them for years
Or a nice watch ?

Ninkaninus · 01/07/2019 19:06

Actually...if it were me looking to treat myself right now, I’d top it up slightly and buy this:

www.johnlewis.com/mulberry-tamara-square-cotton-scarf/p3829412

Cuppa12345 · 01/07/2019 19:16

Silk kimono I've had my eye on and some new sheets, definitely!

CakeNinja · 01/07/2019 19:20

I’d probably buy some bedding or spend it on my Waitrose shop!!
They do have some nice homeware in John Lewis, glasses and kitchen things especially.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/07/2019 20:14

Use them to pay for shopping in Waitrose and then earmark £150 to buy yourself something from somewhere else?

ScarlettDarling · 01/07/2019 20:16

Id get an Alex Monroe bee necklace.

Greyworm · 01/07/2019 20:20

I think I'd get a sheepskin rug for my sofa (because leather is freezing when it's cold) and the John Lewis ones are good! I'd also look at KIN. I'd probably get some statement jewellery and maybe some pj's. Or something from toast. But that would take up all the money so maybe not!

EdWinchester · 01/07/2019 20:26

I'd spend it on skincare. Clarins double serum plus restorative day cream would be £152. I know this because I bought them both on Sat, sadly without a gift card.

Ninkaninus · 01/07/2019 20:27

Oh yes a silk kimono would be on my list too. As would quite a few things from Toast.

user1494055864 · 01/07/2019 20:33

Jewellery or a bag.

Bedding??? I'm sorry, what??!!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/07/2019 20:33

I'd probably go for:
£50 on makeup
£50 on a new sheet and a big, fluffy towel
£50 on a pair of jeans or a bra with matching knickers

TooMinty · 01/07/2019 21:17

They sell pretty much everything in John Lewis, what is your favourite treat and just get a posher version?

reluctantbrit · 01/07/2019 21:25

I would go for something you normally don’t buy to spoil yourself. More expensive brands for bags or skincare?

There own clothing range is quite good and not that pricey. Sales should also be on now, they do slash prices quite a lot.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/07/2019 21:28

Yes, why are people suggesting bedding, towels and kitchen things when the OP has specifically said she wants to spend it on herself.

CornerofUpandDown · 01/07/2019 21:29

Yummy goodies at Waitrose!

Ninkaninus · 01/07/2019 21:32

I can understand the bedding thing - really good bedding is sooooo much nicer and you do spend an awful lot of time in bed over s lifetime. Luckily we already have lots of quality bedding so I don’t need to treat myself, but if we didn’t I could see myself splurging on that.
