I love being old and boring on a Friday night.

Fewer things make me happier that being half asleep on the sofa in front of the tv on a Friday night after a long week at work, waking up and seeing DP also snoozing on the sofa near me, with the cat snoozing next to him.

BunnyTeapot · 28/06/2019 21:36

26 and same 😂

birdsdestiny · 28/06/2019 21:37

God me too. Am lying on the sofa with a glass of wine. Am going out tomorrow and am already depressed about itGrin

flumpybear · 28/06/2019 21:38

47 ... me too!! I used to party TIL I got married and started trying for kids

Loathe 'wasting' a Friday on going out these days!

elephantoverthehill · 28/06/2019 21:38

I came home and fell asleep on my sunlounger with a G&T and a Twister ice lolly. Nothing better.

joliejoleen · 28/06/2019 21:40

Omg yes! I've just had a nap that lasted 2 hours 😂 have been woken up by the delivery guy.
Love not going out!

iklboo · 28/06/2019 21:43

Even better - clean bed, clean PJs, clean me, early night on a Friday Grin

sneakypinky · 28/06/2019 21:44

Excellent work everyone! We did get invited out but said we had plans, when we really just wanted to get a Chinese then fall asleep in front of the football.Grin

The last thing I want to do after working all week is stay out longer than necessary wearing proper clothes and making conversation. I want to put comfy clothes on and have a cuddle in front of the tv and snooze til bedtime.

sneakypinky · 28/06/2019 21:45

@iklboo Yep clean sheets are on! I'm so excited.

Good choice op! I'm currently in bed watching Glastonbury with a gin and crisps. Couldn't be happier! I'm 36! Blush

iklboo · 28/06/2019 21:52

Not to mention we got a litre bottle of vodka for £16 on special offer which will last us weeks, instead of paying £6+ for a single vodka & mixer in town (unless you want to go to the really, really rough places).

mizu · 28/06/2019 21:58

Grin yes! I've just been out for a couple of hours with a class of adult language learners as we've finished the year and exams are done and it's so nice to be back home. I never go out of an evening anymore really. Partied hard in my twenties Glitterball and now mid forties I'm quite happy to potter on a Friday evening.

freshasthebrightbluesky · 28/06/2019 22:01

Same here. I said to dh earlier that going to a festival such as Glastonbury would be my idea of Hell! The noise! The mess! The other people!

I'm currently sitting in the garden (well, the summerhouse glorified shed ) with a cup of tea and a packet of biscuits listening to the birds as they settle in for the night but it's getting a bit nippy so I'll go in in a bit.

TheVanguardSix · 28/06/2019 22:06

47 here... it gets better with time, OP.
You start drooling on the sofa at my age. Even my dog looks surprised that I can out-drool him.

Fairylea · 28/06/2019 22:09

Same here. Dd aged 16 and I are enjoying Love Island and dh is reading his book. Love to be in and relaxing!

Geraniumpink · 28/06/2019 22:12

Came home, fed everyone, collapsed on the bed with a chocolate orange and some alcohol. Bliss. The swallows and swifts are having a party out there!

fraxion · 28/06/2019 22:12

We rarely arrange anything for a Friday night, it's usually a take out and binge watching Netflix then an earlyish night as husband usually goes into work at 6am for a few hours on Saturday morning.

PinkBuffalo · 28/06/2019 22:15

Me too! I'm early 30s and after an intense working week and was at the gym at 6pm this evening until 7pm, got home and took myaelf off to bed about 8pm only coming down for the odd cuppa tea to take back up with me. Just been on the internet this evening Smile
Can only do this cos I live alone lol

Al203 · 28/06/2019 22:19

Yep, log off at 5pm, slip out into the garden. Snip some roses. Pour a drink. Watch Gardeners World, watch the sun go down, a lone seagull flying overhead, dipped down to say good evening. Perfect.

fraxion · 28/06/2019 22:34

We get them in gangs here, choosing the cleanest, shiniest car to poop on. Usually ours as my husband keeps it sparkling. It honestly looks like someone has poured a bucket of paint over it at times.

whatkatydidalready · 28/06/2019 22:36

When I was younger I used to dream of being able to stay in on Friday nights and not be thought a party pooper.

It is bliss.

Firstimemam · 28/06/2019 22:39

I'm 29 and I'm the same!

youwillgo · 28/06/2019 22:58

35 here too and yes, nothing beats a Friday night at home in your comfiest not-fit-to-be-seen-in-public clothes, watching netflix and eating takeaway. Netflix and chill in the most literal and boring way Grin

I saw my neighbour (early 20s) heading out about an hour ago, clearly dressed for a big night out, and just the thought of it made me want to go take a nap!
