Is it the kind of thing I shouldn’t admit to in public?

Sorry, it’s Gyles!

HPLikecraft · 25/06/2019 20:50

Yes, he’s an annoying twit.

IGottaSeeJane · 25/06/2019 20:53

If you're my DD I'm cutting you out of the Will.

chuckyeggtimestwo · 25/06/2019 20:53

I was a bit shocked watching gogglebox last week when he said he had a wife - i presumed he was gay! I think there’s a bit of a frisson between him and Sheila Hancock...

I fancy Louis Theroux if it makes you feel any better...

EdWinchester · 25/06/2019 20:55

I think he is ageing well.

I thought he is gay, but I met his wife a couple of weeks ago.

NetballHoop · 25/06/2019 20:55

I enjoy listening to him on the radio but he doesn't get me all of a flutter. I wouldn't think any less of you if you did though. Had it been Nicholas Parsons though I'd have had to fight you as he's mine.

NicoPolastri · 25/06/2019 21:17

Jane Grin

Netball you’re welcome to Nicholas Parsons!

No. He is funny, clever and a good raconteur.

Bananalanacake · 25/06/2019 21:22

he's written some good books.

HelloCheeky · 25/06/2019 21:24

It's weird because I have recently warmed to him after years of finding him strange and annoying. I think he would be really good company and make me laugh a lot. And that's attractive.

LassOfFyvie · 25/06/2019 21:26

He's funny and clever and I agree he'd be good company.

NicoPolastri · 25/06/2019 21:28

Yes HelloCheeky that’s where I’m at too!

He is sometimes a guest on Sunday Brunch and is absolutely hilarious.

SamBeckett · 25/06/2019 21:33

I dont fancy looks wise but I listen to him on the radio on lot .
He's funny charming intelligent and got a razor sharp wit so I can see why you like him

Iamthewombat · 25/06/2019 21:36

I would judge you. Harshly. Does he still wear those bloody sweaters?

I quite liked his ‘great big funny book’ in 1979 though.

PerspicaciaTick · 25/06/2019 21:37

I used to loathe him. But as we have both grown older I find he is getting funnier and more attractive.

PerspicaciaTick · 25/06/2019 21:37

He mostly wears rather well tailored suits.

DisputedChair · 25/06/2019 21:47

He and Sheila ‘Cheekbones’ Hancock are much the funniest people on Celebrity Gogglebox. Have the Vardys actually said anything? Have Little Mix got a shared braincell that needs its batteries replaced?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 25/06/2019 21:54

Yes I would op.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 25/06/2019 21:55

🤣

In our house, he’s a bit of a hero as he’s given us a tremendous running joke/catchphrase. When he was on the radio once, he told a story about a voice warm up exercise the actor Donald Sinden used to do:

Hip bath
Hip bath
Lavatory

Bidet

Douche

It’s my favourite thing of the year. You have to do it in a posh Giles B way...

NicoPolastri · 25/06/2019 22:15

Agreed Disputed!

Yes please hippo Grin

His son, Benet Brandreth, has written some fun thrillers on Shakespeare in Italy. He seems pretty talented, but I couldn't fancy either of them!

jackparlabane · 25/06/2019 22:56

His kids are lovely (studied with one, worked with the other).
