Has everyone else been peeling their garlic like this all this time? Am I the only one who's been fannying about spending aeons peeling each individual clove?

Now I just want to get home and do some garlicky experiments.

katewhinesalot · 17/06/2019 16:44

Wow. I clicked on the link expecting to think "meh", but if that really works, its amazing.

NEtoN10 · 17/06/2019 16:44

Can someone try this immediately and report back?!

Miniloso · 17/06/2019 16:45

!!!!!!!!!

coolestmum · 17/06/2019 16:46

Wow! Thank you. I will certainly be trying that out

sackrifice · 17/06/2019 16:46

I harvested all my garlic yesterday and to be fair I'm gonna try that on tonight's dinner. That's the best I've ever seen.

BurntSausage · 17/06/2019 16:47

Holy shit, that’s amazing. Must get some to try it out.

Janek · 17/06/2019 16:50

I feel like that wouldnt work if i tried it...

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2019 16:51

Nooooo!

It just hefted the whole clove out of the bulb, NEtoN10.Sad

And I'd hauled my arse off the sofa specially!

Maybe my technique needs refinement. I did start with a whole bulb.

sackrifice · 17/06/2019 16:52

Mine is too wet, as it just took a slice out the middle and didn't crack open like that. i think you may have to score the outside for the first one...

I now stink of garlic though. Meh.

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2019 16:53

OK, I've re-watched the vid.

She's twisting the cloves sideways, having removed at least one to start the bulb.

Sorry, not getting up again to try...

msmith501 · 17/06/2019 16:54

Works on my drying supermarket garlic, less so on a much fresher bulb but what an amazing life hack!

PinkOboe · 17/06/2019 17:12

It’s like the bloody pineapple all over again

Mamagin · 17/06/2019 17:15

What bloody pineapple?!
(Impressed with the garlic tip....)

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2019 17:17

Dunno, but sounds like what happens when I try to cut pineapple...

willywillywillywilly · 17/06/2019 17:17

Shock brilliant!

shuckleberryfinn · 17/06/2019 17:21

i dont peel garlic, i throw the cloves and some oil in the nutribullet, peel and all.

lanbro · 17/06/2019 17:23

I don't peel mine, just put them in the garlic press and it leaves the skin behind...

kiltedsheep · 17/06/2019 17:25

OMFG. This may change my life.

Also, why would you go for garlic purée? I looooove the scent of garlic clinging to my fingers. Handling freshly-peeled garlic is all part of the pleasure of cooking with it.

kiltedsheep · 17/06/2019 17:25

Jeez, that came out a bit pervy. Oops.

Orangecake123 · 17/06/2019 17:28

My mother learnt to zap them in a microwave for a bit- makes the skin come off but this is even better.
