I saw this garlic peeling tip on Twitter today and it’s blown my garlic loving brain

Has everyone else been peeling their garlic like this all this time? Am I the only one who's been fannying about spending aeons peeling each individual clove?

Now I just want to get home and do some garlicky experiments.

That was very Nigella of you, kilted. 'The sharp perfume of the garlic enveloping my hands as I purr in anticipation at the feast that awaits' Grin

kiltedsheep · 17/06/2019 17:34

@Quintella Why thank you Grin

TheAngryLlama · 17/06/2019 17:36

I refuse to believe this works.
FAKE NEWS

Quintella · 17/06/2019 17:37

I find the ready crushed stuff isn't garlicky enough.

You're not putting enough in 😁. I can really recommend the smoked garlic.

sackrifice · 17/06/2019 17:41

It’s like the bloody pineapple all over again

I did that last week. It was bloody marvellous.

WeeDangerousSpike · 17/06/2019 17:46

What's the pineapple thing please? I've got one in the fruit bowl I really need to eat before it goes off...

Fere · 17/06/2019 18:16

it does work part of the way on garlic which was in the fridge for around 10 days, but I think I need something what isn't as sharp as my knives

BertieBotts · 17/06/2019 18:20

If you cut the ends, then crush it (with the flat side of a large knife) while still in the skin the skin just falls off. This looks like a similar technique as it deforms the clove enough to loosen the skin.

ScrambledSmegs · 17/06/2019 18:55

I'll admit I was sceptical, but it worked perfectly. Amazing! Am going to astound my family and friends with that one simple trick Grin

PinkOboe · 17/06/2019 19:07

pineapple hack

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2019 19:11

[shock[ShockShock

Am now feeling inadequate as lack a stunt pineapple with which to try.

WeeDangerousSpike · 17/06/2019 19:51

Pink holy shit! And that works?!

GiggleMcDimples · 17/06/2019 19:59

Agree GiggleMcDimples ! What are they doing, chewing the microphone?? Confused

DontCallMeShitley · 17/06/2019 20:12

I crush the garlic with a big knife and pull the cloves out, dual purpose as it releases all the pong at the same time.

MerryDeath · 17/06/2019 20:13

it took me 4 mushes to get one out BUT I DID IT

PutyourtoponTrevor · 17/06/2019 20:28

Just dry heaved at the pineapple one 🤢

Runmoreorless · 17/06/2019 20:34

I can't make that work but bashing them with the flat side of a large knife losens the skin so it comes off easily

PinkOboe · 18/06/2019 16:26

Ha sorry. I’d not watched it with sound.

And no, it didn’t work ☹️

PickAChew · 18/06/2019 16:30

I just squish them, too, slice off the crusty end then peel.

PickAChew · 18/06/2019 16:31

And someone needs to learn to eat pineapple with their mouth shut 🤢

RedForShort · 18/06/2019 16:35

Ah here, I've just sat down after getting the dinner together and read this. Blooming thing included garlic too.
