A card from each of them..i offered to take him out to lunch but he wanted to take the kids to the cinema instead so we did that the other weekend.

MerryDeath · 16/06/2019 19:06

A card and a gift (a hat). Unfortunately my oh thinks a big deal must be made of Father's Day 🙄

NannyPear · 16/06/2019 19:13

A card, a little keyring with a picture of each of them, and a belt (he needed a belt)

Did you do anything special as a family?

OP posts:
NannyPear · 16/06/2019 19:16

No nothing special as a family. But we have a newborn so Father's Day has kind of came out of the blue and was a last minute thought. Though saying that I don't recall doing anything particularly special last year either.

A card he made at nursery, one I bought and a £2 teddy dog holding a sign saying ‘dads tax’ that you hang in the car that I bought in Asda.

whymewhyme · 16/06/2019 19:17

Well he worked last night and I'm on a 24hr shift today so no we haven't been out as a family at all. I left him some beers M&S fancy crisps and a box of his fave M&S chocs as a treat so he can sit down tonight when children go to bed and scoff it all lol

DS is 1. I just got a card and a photo of DS for his desk at work, and then we went for a meal.

historygeek · 16/06/2019 19:21

A card DS made at nursery, a card I bought, a bird feeder and a mug with a picture of DH, DS and Ddog. We went for a walk, went on a Victorian tramway, a few drinks at a local brewary then home for homemade chicken pie and bread and butter pudding. I'm now bathing DS whilst DH sleeps off beer and carbs!

Teen ds's got a card + bags of sweets. Big speech about him being a fab step df. I may have had something in my eye....
Younger ones chose a t shirt, funky flavour cider!, bars of chocolate, a dad toilet roll and his fav big bag of crisps!

meepmoop · 16/06/2019 19:29

A handmade card from toddler group. I got DH a selection of his favourite snacks as a present.
We went out for a meal at lunch at a fancy hotel with DH's family.

HelenaJustina · 16/06/2019 19:31

Handmade card from each of them. Some Cadbury Heroes, a DVD, a recipe book and some craft beers.

Jinglejanglefish · 16/06/2019 19:31

DD's only a baby but we got DP a personalised mug and card from Moonpig with pictures of DD (he specifically said he wanted cheesy 'best daddy' stuff). We had a day out all together yesterday and he's taken DD out all day today to see some of his friends. I'm loving it as I've had a full day off to be lazy at home.

user1493413286 · 16/06/2019 19:32

Daddy photo frame and a canvas she painted for him. We also went out for lunch.

IShitGlitter · 16/06/2019 19:35

we got DH a daddy bear mug, new socks, a mans sponge soap thing from local bath bomb shop and his favourite chocolates.

TwinklyMummaLuvsHerBubba89 · 16/06/2019 19:38

A framed photo of DS

He's my ex so didn't do anything with him, but it was his weekend to have DS so they went to the park.

Mr and DC dad have recently separated. Ds gets pocket money and chose 2 t-shirts (primary & sainsburys) for his dad (I paid the difference) and got him haribo and a little trophy that dd chose

Yellowcar2 · 16/06/2019 20:19

A home made card and some nice chocolates. Then a meal out and bowling, we all had a fab day.

HairyMcWary · 16/06/2019 20:21

Still waiting for my teen to even wish DH a happy Father's Day Angry

Manclife1 · 16/06/2019 20:24

I got a card made at their school and a tool set I bought myself but wrapped by the kids.

calilark · 16/06/2019 20:26

5.year old dd - I bought a card that she wrote & draw in and she also made him a card and storybook at school. Present-wise, I bought him a wood whittling kit for when the pair of them go camping together over the summer

happypotamus · 16/06/2019 21:09

Cards they had made, DD2 gave a card she had chosen from a shop too but DD1 decided she didn't like the one she had chosen anymore and refused to. They gave him an expensive water bottle that he had chosen himself and ordered from Amazon. They refused to help me wrap it, so he knew a lot more about the gift than they did. It seemed more sensible for him to order something he wanted than for me to buy something he didn't really want or need that would be a waste.

Onlymeyousee · 16/06/2019 21:51

Anyone else?

OP posts:
oooerrmissus · 16/06/2019 21:56

A box of chocolate and a packet of crisps along with a handmade card.

I let them choose and they picked 'what daddy likes best'. He was chuffed though because they picked it themselves and are pre-schoolers
