First of all apologies for title, wanted to get the right traffic.

I have about £50 very special friend.

She does not dress up, wear make up, hair very plain, in fact there is nothing at all I can think of.
She is the most lovely person to walk this planet.
Some flowers ok, but she'd be embarrassed at £50 worth.
It's so hard, not even into jewellery so can't get her a cross.
Please help.
Oh, her age 56.
Can't do vouchers she never goes clothes shopping, isn't the type, it's hard to explain, except she isn't very materialistic.

Food? Bubbles?

Make a donation to a Christian charity of £50 in her name?

Would she like to see something at the theatre? A friend and I often buy theatre tickets for each other (and then go together)

UNICEF are advertising vaccination kits for £32 or blankets for Syria?

Does she have a garden to buy something for?

Take her out for a lunch or cream tea?

If she has any hobbies, then maybe supplies.

If it was cooler weather, I would say some sort of practical accessory like a nice pair of gloves.

Theatre tickets, a book subscription (she could then donate the books to a charity shop), cookery class, afternoon tea somewhere, an afternoon out somewhere with you buying a nice lunch for you both, a plant/planted tub for the garden, hamper of nice foods, membership to RHS/National Trust/English Heritage etc.

Split it and buy a smaller bunch of flowers (or make up your own from a few supermarket bouquets), then a smaller voucher for something she will use e.g. local coffee shop or a charitable donation in her name.

What about taking her out for a meal and a token gift too. Go into a Christian bookshop and ask for suggestions. Book vouchers from the shop itself and she can choose a book or something she would like to read.

How about a bottle each of Benedictine, Chartreuse and Buckie?

Or as others have said, afternoon tea, theatre, spa day etc.

Would she enjoy a gift experience of some sort... dance class, yoga class, wine tasting, steam train ride, sporting event, stadium tour, Segway tour, piano lessons, driving experience?

I think you are stuck because you are conflicted between your wish to spend £50 and your knowledge that there’s no object you can buy that will make her happier than she is now.
To be honest if I were her reading your sentence about her being the most lovely person to walk the planet would be worth much more than fifty quid’s worth of anything. What about making her something and writing a very heartfelt card to go with it.
If you’re still looking for an object, my aunt had a very nice print of the serenity prayer.
I wonder if your friend would appreciate an antique embroidery sampler or something like that.

Do you particularly want to give her a faith-based present?

If not, what sorts of things does she like?

Does she have a garden? If so, plants?

Or any other hobbies? My lovely SIL, for example, would never go and buy herself good-quality yarn for her handicrafts, but would probably appreciate £50 worth of 100% wool DK.

She doesn't appreciate gardens, well doesn't enjoy gardening. She isn't lazy with her garden, just likes it trees and bushes and only very small.

She has no hobbies except talking to people and making them cups of tea, reading and discussing her Bible You can knock on her door anytime. You can burst into tears in her doorway, she will feed, clothe and take you in.

My parents sponsored a guide dog for my DD as a Christmas present. DD got a photo of said dog, and occasional updates. Would something like that suit?

I like the idea of taking her to the theatre, but why are you so keen to spend £50 on someone who sounds as though she just doesn't want for anything? It sounds as though spending time is far more valuable to her than money. Could you just go for a day out together somewhere like an National Trust property?

Subscription to a magazine?

What about a bible case??

Buy her a beautiful one designed for women. They come in gorgeous colours with embossed scriptures.
