My baby is 1 and I love her so much but find it so hard. But everyone I speak to just says it doesn’t get easier ...it just changes .

I know there will always be challenges. But there must be some things that get better/ easier? Please give me some hope Grin

I had three under three so I can confirm, it definitely does get easier the older they get. I used to find leaving the house a ginormous mission when they were all small. They now get dressed and have breakfast before I even wake up most days! I don’t even have to tie laces anymore or help with zips, buttons etc. We can rush and leave the house in approx five mins whereas when they were all under four it would take up to an hour...

I’ve got twin 2 year olds and an (autistic) 5 year old.

Which means that I recently had twin newborns and an autistic 3 year old.

Things are WAY easier now than they were 2 years ago. The twins are rowdy destructive toddlers, but they sleep and eat well. They’re fun and clever and interested.

The eldest has come on in leaps and bounds, and copes better in all sorts of environments.

We’re still exhausted, but far less stressed.

The physical demands get easier,

The conversation gets more interesting, Tv programs far less brain numbing.

However you can’t physically pick them up if tantruming, they grow their own mind , and the support they need is very different . Leaving the house alone is a scary step independence is great but so hard actually going through but .

Each stage has its own benefits and issues.

Just to say once you have got through the baby years people remember with rose tinted glasses
