George Michael

I was talking with my Ds12, earlier, about the late, great, George Michael and he asked, was he still alive... I told him, that sadly he had died. He asked me how, and it occurred to me , that I don't know. I was a massive fan, back in the day, and was sad at his passing. Was his cause of death ever made public?

I cried buckets the night he died. Mum had already gone to bed and she wasn't well at all that Xmas, and my late father came into the kitchen with a face of complete disbelief.... and told me and said "if you go upstairs and she's still awake, don't tell her, it can wait till the morning".

then he told her in the morning and she thought it was an evil internet hoax till she switched on the BBC news.

I wasn't particularly surprised, he was always someone who was going to go young, but it was still awful.

on a cheerier note, if anyone is interested and nearby, apparently the Highgate Festival are having a singalong night for the end of the festival. I'm just hoping my sister doesn't find out because she will want to travel all the way there!! Lovely idea though, hope it goes well.

Pink I don't know any OTT ones but I don't see BGT or anything like that - though George did his lovely "dreamed of Christmas" song on there didn't he? Or one of those types of shows?

He was my idol from around 14 years old. Couldn't watch the news for a couple of weeks after he died because I couldn't bear to keep hearing the news. So sad for his family. Spent an evening in the company of his dad years ago in his restaurant and he was revelling in the wonderful bubble of teenage adoration that we felt for his son and Andrew. A very proud dad!

I just love him still and I’m 39 so I missed the Wham years. My Mam brought me up on him though.

We do go and see Rob Lamberti who is an excellent tribute to him. I thought we wouldn’t enjoy it but he is very very good and it feels like we are keeping his music alive.

I thought there was quite a lot of fanfare at the time, quite rightly too.
It was brilliant to suddenly hear about all the great things he did in secret after he died.
A different corner is perfect to me.

Yes, it's a zombie thread but it would seem unseemly to start a new one on the back of tabloid tattle so I thought I'd ask here - does anyone know/can anyone surmise why Kenny Goss was left out of his will entirely? What are his fans reactions to the lawsuit? Gold digger, disappointed love of his life or just desperate? Were they still in close contact? Would he have had reasonable expectations that he would be taken care of or did he have a settlement at the time? Oh and what did you all think of the recent George mural?

I cried proper tears when he passed away. Boxing Day 2016 I had to keep going upstairs to have a sob. So sad, so talented x

Love George...remember the duet he did with Whitney? I cannot watch that video without crying knowing they are both gone.

Was really disappointed to read that Kenny Goss was suing George’s Dad/estate..... another leech as far as I’m concerned.
