Right now I’m on holiday in Maui, drinking gin. The kids are around somewhere, as we’ve pulled them out of school to be here!

(Also retrospectively realising I should probably post this in the wankiest things thread)

Hmm, sitting in a lovely hotel about to have breakfast? I've left ds alone in the hotel room though which us not very MN. He's 15 though.

I woke at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. MN advice for such situations is to get up and do something. So I went downstairs and baked an extremely goooey chocolate cake.

Thought dh and I might have a slice with a cup of tea this afternoon, but it's lunchtime and the gannets teenagers have already eaten it!

Possibly outing, but I gasped at Jack Monroe using tinned spaghetti hoops in her recipe for pasta e ceci. Even though I am not a food snob and I bet it's delicious.

Put the bottom bit of liquid from my reed diffuser into some cotton wool in the vac.

Now my house smells amazing and I feel very accomplished in the cleaning department.

Repeated to myself:

"Never make someone else your priority, when for them you're just an option."

(TBF, I don't think this should always be true. But I do need to ram it firmly into my head about some particular folks right now.)

I am eating batch cooked chickpea curry for lunch.

Made eggs benedict with duck eggs and homegrown rocket for breakfast dh & me this morning.

Made spaghetti hoops on toast with a quail's egg for the dc's dinner.

Sent dh to do the supermarket shop so I could sit with a cup of tea & sew.

On a cotton wool pad, in the bag.

Now my house smells like my Price's diffuser. How very middle class 🤣

Bought a stunt pineapple as having visitors later. 🍍

Tried out a new "hobby". Not for me.

Gave 2 yo marinated artichokes try with his lunch. He really like them.

Threw a packet of pom bears at dd.

I've used a fuckton of Zoflora.

Went to a yoga class then walked to a small nature reserve and took some photos with my new camera. DD old enough for me not to need to know where she is or what she is doing

How does it make the room smell nice if you put the pad in the bag? Surely that's at the end of the vacuuming process? When all the dust is dumped after being sucked through the tube???
I want to try this, (although have no reed diffusers and have just finished hoovering).
