Do you feel grown up?

I was thinking this today. I'm 42 with kids a mortgage and a good job but I don't feel "grown up" I don't know why!

I have started to enjoy garden centres etc in the last year so maybe it's coming but I think my parents seemed to know much more of what they were doing at my age!

Maybe they didn't and were just putting up a good front

Hope I'm fooling the kids!

I’m 31, I spent this morning at a trampoline park, my almost four year old got bored before I did. Sums up our relationship.

I was talking about this with a colleague this morning. Turning 34 tomorrow and feel... 20 or so. Have a kid and a job and my life in no way resembles my life at 20, but I just don't feel grown up. I think for me it's a massive confidence thing - I just can't imagine I am as good at this adult/ parent lark as my parents were Sad

Yes I feel grown up, have done for quite a while.

I am the most sensible person in my family- my own mother is clueless, I feel confident handling finance, making big decisions, can spot when anyone lies to me, can cope in a majot crisis.

I'm 37 and this year have suddenly realised I'm an adult.

I think the realisation came when DS had terrible accident and was injured badly. We've spent a huge amount of time in and out of various hospitals, we've learned so much about injuries and recovery and all the anatomical stuff I'd never have otherwise had to know, and as silly as it sounds, it's changed me enormously. Keeping things moving, keeping things together and keeping a level head amongst the chaos it struck me a few weeks ago that 27 year old me probably would have fallen apart, but 37 year old me has powered through and only occasionally cried down the hone to my Mum!
