I'm really considering it, but what about the upkeep? How often do you have to have it done? And what about when you want to grow it out??

gubbsywubbsy · 04/03/2019 15:06

I don't think I will grow it out if it's solves my fat hair problems .. I will get dh to keep it under control once the initial cut has been done

Why are they difficult to grow out? I always assumed it would be easy as you could just let it slowly grow while having the hair on top cut?

Nesssie · 04/03/2019 19:28

visitorthedog it’s wearing it up in a ponytail whilst the bottom half is growing out that I’m worried about!

Ingesw · 04/03/2019 20:33

An undercut at the back is not too bad to grow out IMO provided you can keep your hair down. I think an undercut that goes round above the ear would be more of a pain.

I did grow out my undercut and then had it put back in. I love it. I don't trust DH with it though! I find a gents barbers do a better job of finishing it off than the hairdressers so I have my cut and colour done in my usual place and my undercut done elsewhere.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 07/03/2019 09:13

Fab. I'm going to pluck up the courage.

gubbsywubbsy · 07/03/2019 13:18

Do it ... I have my hair in heidi braids today and it's so much better without the hair at the bottom .. you can't even see the undercut .

The straggly bits on my first pic are attached to my hair not bits she missed by the way . It's very clean when tied up . This was the end of the day . 🤗

I did it! Can't take pics at mo, but am v pleased, bob hair hangs much nicer when down and none of those ridiculous clumpy straggles when up.
I did find out I have a ridiculous hairline on my neck, like VVV which is why I always struggled with neatness in a high ponytail. I'm going back to get it shorter with some lines in it in a couple weeks, and a better fade into my neck. DH doesn't trust himself yet!

gubbsywubbsy · 01/04/2019 18:16

Cool!!! I'm still loving mine !!

Hi! Sorry to revive the thread, I remembered reading this a while back. Do you still like your undercut op? I'm thinking of going for it. If I don't like it is it hard to grow out? I keep reading that it's hard but I don't understand why as no-one can see it anyway? (I wouldn't do sides) thanks!

gubbsywubbsy · 03/06/2019 13:44

@DontFundHate ... yes I still love it .. I won't grow out , it makes my hair sit so much better no one notices it when it's up anyways . Go for it .

Looks awesome op - I’m also a triangle head and am now considering getting it done!

Witchesandwizards · 03/06/2019 16:06

Do it. I have thick hair in a chin length bob and it was really bushy at the back until I had an undercut. Now it hangs much better at the back and l can tie it in a short ponytail for the gym etc.
I get it cut every 3-4 months and go back to have the undercut shaved in between cuts as it gets bushy.

DontFundHate · 03/06/2019 16:55

Thanks for your replies Smile so did you get your undercut shaved or cut with scissors? Curious as shaved would obviously last much longer but I've heard cut with scissors grows out a bit better? Thank you!!

gubbsywubbsy · 03/06/2019 18:48

They Cut off most of it with scissors then shaved . My dh keeps it short .

I had an undercut and loved it, my hair is really thick.

I only grew it out because my new hairdresser said I should (I moved a long way away) but I should have kept it, I'd be tempted to get another one!

Glad you like it OP

DontFundHate · 04/06/2019 13:26

Thank you Smile
