Anybody do weekly meal plans? Care to share yours?

I try and be organised and do a weekly meal plans and find that it is the most boring uninspiring task. I want to plan to help save money and reduce food waste. DH is useless and just says something helpful like “pasta, eggs and something with mince”. I’m trying to cut down on meat and eat lower calorie food (blame my neighbour who keeps slyly glimpsing at my tummy trying to work out if I’m fat or pregnant every time I chat to her). Would anybody care to share their plans. Inspire me!

Sausage and mash
Turkey fajitas
Chickpea and spinach curry
Smoked ham and corguette tortilla
Lamb meatballs and tomato sauce
Eggs on toast

CaptainHammer · 01/01/2019 21:57

Pollo pesto pasta
Lasagne
Nando’s style chicken with spicy rice (the slimming world recipe for the rice, delicious!)
Homemade veggie burger and wedges
Salmon, potato and veg
Jacket potato (mine with prawns, DH with cheese and beans)

I found it really helpful to note down loads of meals we like so when I can’t think of anything we can pick something from the list rather than sitting for 10 years trying to think of another meal!

wheresmyhairytoe · 01/01/2019 22:03

We have

Homemade pizza
Roast chicken
Fajitas
Chicken curry
Tuna pasta bake
Sausage casserole
Salmon and rice with roast vegetables.

I'm also trying to do more meal planning.

I spent a couple of hours writing up a ten week or so meal plan that I will look at in more detail each week.

This week coming up is planned as:

Sushi platter
Chicken stir fry
Sat lunch: tomato soup and baguettes with thick ham and cheddar cheese
Burgers with chips and salad
leftovers
IP Crack chicken with mange tout and baby corn
Mac and cheese with broccoli
sandwiches
IP Kedgeree
IP Gammon and cauli cheese, spinach and potato waffles

NorthernGravy · 01/01/2019 22:28

What is IP crack chicken? In fact what is IP?

So glad I came across this, I'm in the same boat.

Can I ask a good recipe for making salmon? I really want to make more fish based meals too.

SoleBizzz · 01/01/2019 22:33

Spag bol, garlic bread.
Chicken kievs and chips
Pork dinner, mash, roast pots etc

Littlelambpeep · 01/01/2019 22:34

I make beef casserole weekly (in winter)
Chicken curry - with plenty of veg to reduce calories
Chicken skewers on bed of salad
Jacket potatoes
Salmon (cajun spice)

That type of thing

TitzillatheHun · 01/01/2019 22:37

This week we're having:

Chilli and rice
Tortiglioni alla norcina (pasta with sausages in a white wine cream sauce, indulgent and lush!)
Thai yellow chicken curry and rice
Cottage pie
Pheasant casserole and crusty bread
Tomato and lentil soup

I have been inspired by DM and have started keeping a notebook of the dinners we eat, to get inspiration for each week's meals.

LtGreggs · 01/01/2019 22:37

Roast chicken & chips
Chicken biryani
Salmon fillets with orzo
Chilli in slow cooker (two nights)
Chunky fish fingers

InLoveWithMyDressingGown · 01/01/2019 23:02

@LtGreggs how do you do your chilli in the slow cooker? Mine always end up tasting like spaghetti bolognese!

LookImAHooman · 01/01/2019 23:03

Following for inspo but also to say to @CaptainHammer that I now (happily Grin) have Bad Horse stuck in my head.

PurpleDaisies · 01/01/2019 23:04

Vegan/veggie here this week...

Chickpea and spinach curry with poppadoms and rice (and naan)
Baked cauliflower in hoisin sauce with jasmine rice
Spicy tomato pasta with roasted Mediterranean veg and quorn chicken pieces
Lentil shepherds pie with root veg mash on top, peas and broccoli
Schroomdog sausages with root veg mash (or maybe vegan toad in the hole if I can find a recipe)

LookImAHooman · 01/01/2019 23:04

*InLove I’ve used this one - great for getting a ton of veg in. As long as you season it correctly, it works well.

Also thinking butternut mulligatawny for lunch during the week.

Lamb kebabs with pitta, paprika wedges and salad
Salmon pasta with garlic and herb cream cheese and broccoli
Meatballs
Pizza and salad
Usually a left over or freezer tea one night of the week
