Moderating a FB group - would you remove the post?

I run a FB group for all y9 parents at DD's school. It's a friendly, helpful group with lots of posts and reminders. One parent, let's call her Clare, recently posted to say she was upset and angry that her DD was being bullied by another y9 girl. She did not name or in any way identify the alleged bully, but said she was fed up of the meanness and would be in touch with the school if this girl didn't stop. Other parents expressed sadness about this and agreed that any bullying is vile behaviour. The parent of the alleged bully has now asked for the post to be removed as she says her daughter is upset even though not identified. This is really a wwyd: remove the post or not?

shrug

just trying to help folk out. Incidentally, no matter how "true" something may be, you can still get into trouble for publishing it, or allowing it to be published. Spent offences under the RoA act ring a vague bell.

MN is a moderated forum, and I know there have been a few posters/threads pulled because of fears of litigation ... (tries to remember which thread I was posting on that I was warned had been flagged by lawyers ....)

I am assuming the website wasn't setup to deal with this kind issue? You say it's a a place for useful and helpful info. I personally wouldn't like to be involved with any conflict not concerning my child. So if I were you would remove and let it be dealt with in school.

Even if it's true and the person is a bully it opens up the possibility of people making up false allegations. I would stay out of it and ban this sort of thing if it were me.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I ended up removing the comment on the basis that fb wasn't the place to sort out the issue. So far, no come back about this. I did take screen shots just in case!
