Asda at midnight

So thanks to DH coming down with what I can only describe as some kind of excercist style vomiting we can no longer go to DMs from Christmas Eve untill 27th.

As we are meant to be leaving in the morning I have nothing in the house would I be mad to go to Asda at 12:01 when it opens and do a food shop..

Has anyone been on a Monday at midnight before is it usually well stocked? Am I walking into a disaster zone? Or should I go tomorrow morning?

Help

I think you should put the tree up. If I was ill I'd like my husband to do the Christmas stuff as usual. I ould stay huddled on the sofa and look at the lovely tree.

It's comforting to know life carries on as usual.

Your plans have gone awry and going shopping wasn't your idea of a nice Christmas eve so it's a pain in the arse.

Hopefully you'll look back on this for years and with a smile remember "the Christmas you were ill/asda debacle"

Just got out. Got virtually everything although the stocks of camembert were suspiciously low!

I've done Tesco at 5.30 am before, that was fun! Zombie like women pushing laden trolleys with the occasional sleepy toddler on the trolley seat and barely a man (other than staff) in sight. The assistant told me the men rush is frantically after midday! This year hoping for it to be a more civilised shop as food is fully preordered and paid for from Morrison's, just need to go to customer services - my choice of Morrison's is strategic though, it's in an area of high density housing, mostly rentals and student flats, not a family area m, I'm hoping this means less busy!

My Mum did her Tesco shop at 2am Friday night. She said it was great, the staff were finishing stocking shelves, chatting and singing. She got everything on her list and said she highly recommends it.

Well I'm on my way home now I could confirm everybody in my local area had exactly the same idea the queues were ridiculous and the shelves were still being stacked.
