Tried looking online but different answers but just wondering if I had 3 paracetamol yesterday with the last dose at 930pm last night would it be ok to have a glass of wine tonight ?

I hope so. I took 2 at lunchtime today for a niggly tooth and had a glass of wine with my lunch!

Tinyteatime · 08/12/2018 17:58

I’ve never heard that you’re not meant to take paracetamol and drink?!

CherryPavlova · 08/12/2018 17:58

Are you serious? You could swallow paracetamol with a glass of wine unless you had pre-existing liver problems.

How has this never come up for you before?! I'd normally wait about 4 hours personally.

Iloveautumnleaves · 08/12/2018 17:58

How old are you?

Tinyteatime · 08/12/2018 17:59

Looks like it’s fine

MrsBungle · 08/12/2018 17:59

I’ve just taken 2 paracetamol and will be cracking open the wine shortly.

Micah · 08/12/2018 17:59

Eh?

Why wouldn’t be ok to take paracetamol with alcohol? There are no contra- indications, unless you know something i don’t after 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry?

LordPickle · 08/12/2018 18:00

Paracetamol can irritate your stomach and it's not recommended if you have liver problems but the vast majority of people can take it with alcohol and have no problems. You definitely shouldn't worry about it OP.

sniffysnifferson · 08/12/2018 18:01

I have taken paracetamol and ibuprofen several times with alcohol in the past. Literally the drink to take them with.
There isn't an issue with alcohol and paracetamol /ibuprofen if you have no pre existing kidney/liver issues.

Ivegotthree · 08/12/2018 18:07

I'd wash the pills down with it tbh

cancla · 08/12/2018 18:08

9.30 LAST NIGHT Shock

Of course you can have a drink

Madratlady · 08/12/2018 18:09

You can literally swallow the tablets down with alcohol if you want to, there’s no interaction between paracetamol and alcohol

MrMeSeeks · 08/12/2018 18:09

Last night? Ofcourse its ok to drink now!

Aquilla · 08/12/2018 18:13

In my opinion it's the only way to take them!

Topseyt · 08/12/2018 18:13

I have washed it down with wine before too. No issues at all.

Cheers. GrinWine

Ivegotthree · 08/12/2018 18:14

Is this a piss-take?

NoLogicInThis · 08/12/2018 18:25

Nope not a pisstake i genuinely thought you were supposed to avoid alcohol.

OP posts:
Caprisunorange · 08/12/2018 18:25

Whenever! It’s only paracetamol

Reallybadidea · 08/12/2018 18:26

Maybe you're thinking of antibiotics and avoiding alcohol.

I've washed down many a dose of paracetamol with a G&T Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 08/12/2018 18:28

I don't know about paracetamol but i just washed down two ibuprofen with a gin and tonic!

Babyg1995 · 08/12/2018 18:30

Lol

Notquiterichenough · 08/12/2018 18:30

I often wash them down with wine. Or beer. Or brandy.

OnTrain · 08/12/2018 18:31

It’s antibiotics you should avoid with alcohol

Toxthing · 08/12/2018 18:31
