Does anyone else watch her?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 29/11/2018 23:34

Yes.

With the sound off!

😬

JulieBindelAteMyHomework · 29/11/2018 23:37

I used to but I'm afraid her voice is too annoying. I'm surprised she hasn't had a heart attack with all the high fatty foods she cooks 😱

Whisky2014 · 29/11/2018 23:39

I love her. I followed her when her website was just a small blog about how she met her husband. Sounded like the perfect fairy tale. I recently mentioned her to my houston based boss and he told me they are one of the largest landowners in america! $$$$$

NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade · 29/11/2018 23:42

I want her to adopt me

Heismyopendoor · 29/11/2018 23:45

Yes I watch her, I love her! Her food always looks delicious and I would love their kind of lifestyle :)

She seems like a really nice person. I follow her on Instagram and her life looks very peaceful.

IstanbulConstan · 29/11/2018 23:46

I enjoy watching them. I only discovered her a few months ago.

Please give me the background I am missing?

SleeplessMomma · 29/11/2018 23:47

I do! Her food always looks delicious and real homely, something the whole family can enjoy. I follow her on Facebook too, comes across as very genuine.

On the other hand, my husband can’t stand her but doesn’t know why...

HouseOfMouse · 30/11/2018 00:00

I don’t mind the shows although she can be a but irritating and I don’t like the very sugary deserts she does. The husband is supposed to be worth about $200m! Their ranch is huge.

HouseOfMouse · 30/11/2018 00:01

*desserts (sorry, typo)

LetBartletBeBartlet · 30/11/2018 00:03

I was making one of her recipes yesterday and wondering how much of my excess weight is directly attributable to her... HmmGrin

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 30/11/2018 00:18

No, never watched her, but her homeware range at Walmart is LOVELY, at least in the pics. V good for my wallet that I'm not in the states.

IstanbulConstan · 30/11/2018 00:52

I agree her homeware is attractive, especially the gingham, so country.

OP posts:
RCohle · 30/11/2018 01:13

I started off hate watching her, but now I'm bloody obsessed.

I enjoy all the insights into ranch life and the way chucking together a load of cans and processed cheese is apparently home cooking Grin

halfwitpicker · 30/11/2018 01:38

Yes I read her blog back in the days of green fields etc. Really high fat food.

Her husband is worth millions?!

IstanbulConstan · 30/11/2018 01:44

I have done a bit of digging around.

Apparently her MIL recently died. Sad

The American government - according to comments by the public - pays the Drummond family over a million dollars a year to allow wild horses on their land. Shock

Whisky2014 · 30/11/2018 03:05

Its so they dont build on it i think. Keep it green and i guess...feed all the americans.

HouseOfMouse · 30/11/2018 03:24

The ranch is very big money, due to its size. I think it’s now owned by her husband and brother in law, so that’s where the money comes from I guess. The show is filmed in their “guest lodge” rather than their home.

HerRoyalNotness · 30/11/2018 03:26

Google says he’s worth 8m and she’s worth 50m

HollyBollyBooBoo · 30/11/2018 03:31

I love her although haven't actually cooked many of her recipes.

I think they're the 3rd biggest landowners in America or something like that. Seem a very grounded family on tv.

plaidlife · 30/11/2018 03:37

Like a pp I used to follow her blog years ago. I was rather surprised when I saw her on TV on moving to US. I don't love her voice as much as her writing style.
I do have a slight addiction to her homeware, it is all made in China, not the best quality but still really fun. Currently buying lots of food storage jars.
Her food is very unhealthy but tasty.

pallisers · 30/11/2018 03:51

I like her food network show and have done several of her recipes that are really good. She does normal good food really well and isn't embarrassed to do an occasional "tin of mushroom soup" recipe - I don't do those myself but lots of people do and I like that she isn't above doing old recipes like this. But mainly her stuff is normal home cooking.

I imagine if you aren't american her voice might be startling (I find the same with british cooks these days)

They are worth a bomb as a family - even before she started her empire.

I love that her daughters are as involved in the day to day work of the ranch as her sons. The way they all work, they could easily burn 5000 calories a day - and all of them are lean and athletic.

I watch her show on Sunday mornings in bed with a cup of coffee. I was surprisingly sad to see her mil Nan died.

HarrySnotter · 30/11/2018 05:31

Oh I LOVE Ree! I notice that Ladd has had his teeth done, they're insanely white. Oh and yes, they're absolutely minted!

maras2 · 30/11/2018 06:48

Loved the episode when they're all tidying the family graveyard ready to bury Nan, fortified by Ree's 'snacks'.
Welling up just thinking about it. Sad

Deathraystare · 30/11/2018 07:48

Frieeeeed Chick'n! That voice!

I used to watch her but I am surprised that her family aren't mahoosive and all diabetic. Rarely makes anything healthy - except when on her own or has female friends over.

I preferred the one called Nancy. The older woman - calls her recipes receipts like they used to in olden days.

anneofavonlee · 30/11/2018 07:50

I did watch her and always felt it was a spoof or highly exaggerated as ranch work is extremely heavy going and not very well paid yet she seemed so manicured and her house and kids so perfect. That totally explains it if they are minted then. Ladd doesn't need to be out on the ranch all day, it's a hobby for him.
