Does anyone else watch her?

I love reading her recipes, I love her writing style but definitely not a fan of watching her in action, not sure why but just not the same for me! Love her recipes but never tried them, I just like reading them.

IstanbulConstan · 30/11/2018 08:39

I like that the women work on the farm and men cook too. She brought her son and daughter for a pedicure yesterday.

She’s great. If you want real guilty pleasure food network though try restaurant stakeout or mystery diners

IstanbulConstan · 30/11/2018 18:57

Lemon meringue pie tonight, yummy.

I love Ree, think she’s wonderful. If I ever end up in America I am heading to Pawhuska to stay in her boarding house, eat her pizza, shop in her mercantile and visit her lodge!

OutragedERIC · 30/11/2018 19:09

I like her, Ree and her ‘lemmin meringue pie’ and ‘brooshketta’

Agree her writing style is better than her TV suggests- wittier and more descriptive.

The sexism grates though, the boys eat steak and taters, the girls eat pasta and vegetables etc

IstanbulConstan · 30/11/2018 19:12

She has pronounced Worcestershire sauce better than any other American.

I love watching the Pioneer woman...it's absolutely brilliant!

BigStripeyBastard · 30/11/2018 19:18

I quite like her. Quite a few of these American cooks tend to 'compile' dishes of various premade items (Like Ina Garten who buys most of her stuff at various at artisanal suppliers who seem to consist entirely of gay gentlemen in pastel coloured sweaters draped over their shoulders 😂 ) thrown into a pan and then garnished with butter and cheese. Which is perfectly ok by me.
I love her ranch.

Knittedfairies · 30/11/2018 19:22

I’d like to have a good look round her ranch and house..

halfwitpicker · 30/11/2018 19:25

If they are the 3rd biggest land owners in the US they are worth waaayy more than that.

IstanbulConstan · 30/11/2018 19:26

The white and gingham bedding.

I want her to be my aunt. Don’t mind her voice at all and I especially like it when she makes meals just for herself. Like nigella but less pervy!

AnneLovesGilbert · 30/11/2018 19:33

That bedding is bloody lovely.

honeysucklejasmine · 30/11/2018 19:34

I love her! We have a few of her cook books. I do adapt the recipes to make them a bit healthier, but honestly they aren't that bad in general.

My DH is American, so I have no issues with her accent.

The kids cut down my viewing of the show, so now I look forward to a slight lay in on the weekend to catch a few episodes.

legolimb · 30/11/2018 19:44

There is a book. I read it before I ever saw the tv shows.

I think she's ace, she's my guilty pleasure. I love her clothes and the fact that she isn't a stick thin blonde like so many other SM slebs.

I remember being shocked at how large their ranch is - 1750 Sq Km. Thats the size of Worcestershire!

(And I quite fancy Ladd Blush)

Budder Grin

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 30/11/2018 20:03

I love a bit of Pioneer Woman, watched way too much when on mat leave (it's on for like 4 hours a day!) How the heck are those kids not porkers? I know they do 'ranch work' and sports but all I ever see of them on the ranch is them driving around in pick ups (presumably because it's so humongous) and shooing cattle through gates. I love little Todd, he's ace, although less little now.

They do all look very wholesome, I wonder what will happen to the kids, will they end up being slebs or will they just carry on with ranching or do their own cooking shows.

And I can't help but feel that despite the daft name and slightly unattractive face, i bet Ladd is amazing in the sack.

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 30/11/2018 20:05

Also out of all her mates I like Hyacinth best, she often seems to have a wry twinkle about her, bet she has a wicked sense of humour.

But why is it she shows up, obviously in the car, and gets handed a glass of wine which she happily takes? Is she not planning to go home for several hours?

TheSpottedZebra · 30/11/2018 20:10

I think the Drummond family were the 17th biggest landowners in the US -a least a couple of years ago, anyway.

I'm obsessed with Food network -I find watching it totally relaxing.

WWYDhelpplease · 30/11/2018 20:10

Came on to say budder!

I love the lodge she records her show in. It’s not even their house and the mercantile where they have their office.

WWYDhelpplease · 30/11/2018 20:11

Oh I’d certainly give Ladd a good going over 😀

WWYDhelpplease · 30/11/2018 20:12

He real name is apparently Ann Marie Smith!
