LTB ?

Definitely LTB. I'm angry for you.

StorminaBcup · 10/11/2018 10:36

Have you asked DH to squidge them first to loosen the skin up?

wizzler · 10/11/2018 10:43

I like satsuma's and dislike Clementines. I bet he got to Sainsbos and couldn't remember which was which so went for the perceived safe option.

Dobbythesockelf · 10/11/2018 10:53

I got these substituted for my satsumas the other week. I just took them so dd and dh had some cause they love satsumas. I gave up one lunch time and gave dd a banana. They do not peel easily at all.

DrWendyRhoades · 10/11/2018 11:13

I’m on the side of your DH here, the bloody fruit is to blame, not him!

The rather misleading (utterly bullshit) title of ‘easy peelers’ gives me disproportionate rage! Grin I’ve never had one that’s remotely easy to peel!

TroysMammy · 10/11/2018 11:14

This is the thing my niece and I joke about. "Easy peelers not" with an eye roll for effect.

Witchend · 10/11/2018 11:36

We once bought one packet of easy peelers and one packet of extra sweet.

We wondered if they'd got into the wrong packets.

wizzler · 10/11/2018 11:39

I just dont agree that Easy Peelers should be a thing. Why not call them Clementines.. or Satsumas.. or whatever they really are .

OP posts:
iklboo · 10/11/2018 11:42

Am I the only one who peels satsumas / clementines in the shape of a man so that the 'stalk' but in the middle comes out looking like his willy? Blush

wizzler · 10/11/2018 11:44

Iklboo I think you probably are. Photo please

thenightsky · 10/11/2018 11:46

I much prefer a proper satsuma over any of the other clementine/mandarin stuff. They are a bugger to find though. If I put them on my on-line shop they ALWAYS get substituted for 'easy peeler' clementines. Grr.

HearMeSnore · 10/11/2018 13:09

Iklboo until today I think you were. But from now on I'm totally doing that.

iklboo · 10/11/2018 14:04

Here you go Grin

DH has bought easy peelers
mimibunz · 10/11/2018 14:09

That’s talent Iklboo!

Davros · 10/11/2018 14:25

That's brilliant

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/11/2018 14:35

I agree that easy peelers are never easy to peel

I like satsumas best - lovely taste easy to peel - you seem to only get them round xmas though otherwise it's all this easy peeler thing.

Is easy peeler a variety? Or is it a term to cover whatever is in season that is easy (but actually not) to peel?

If it's not a variety and I suspect it's not they should call them clemetines or whatever they are. We should know what our food's called surely.

Also, why are spring onions called salad onions now.

LittleBookofCalm · 10/11/2018 14:37

ScrunchyBook · 10/11/2018 14:39

iklboo That is AWESOME.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 10/11/2018 14:39

iklboo thar is brilliant Grin You need to post a tutorial on YouTube!

taybert · 10/11/2018 14:40

My DH peels them so the peel looks like a cock and balls but that is incredible.

quarterpast · 10/11/2018 14:49

@iklboo We are so impressed with that in our house that DH is at this very moment trying to recreate your genius with DS's satsuma Grin

TroysMammy · 10/11/2018 15:55

iklboo are you taking the pith?

EnidButton · 10/11/2018 15:57

Beautiful Iklboo

Roll them on a flat surface with your palm first. Works on all oranges.

I can't read 'easy peelers' without singing it to the tune of Easy Lover.

KurriKurri · 10/11/2018 16:59

Iklboo my much loved late Uncle used to do the willy man satsuma peeling thing - and then he'd leave it on the plate at dinner parties (in the days when people had fruit at the end of meal at dinner parties).

He was Polish - nice to think the fruit into willy man custom thrives across Europe Grin

SilentBob · 10/11/2018 17:02

Fruit willy man is epic!

I'm not a fan of clementines or mandarins but love me a satsuma. I feel your pain, OP!
