Is it normal to only like even numbers?

I hate odd numbers especially double odd numbers eg teens, thirties, seventies. Numbers divisible by 5 are ok though.

Even all the way, volume in the car has to be even although 5s and 0s are acceptable. DH thinks I’m weird.
Can’t get out of bed on a 47, will wait till a ten to.

House4 · 09/11/2018 19:44

Love this thread! I'm glad not the only one who has feelings about numbers Grin! I love both even and odd numbers but even are more responsible and reliable but odds are more crazy!
I have feelings about days of the weeks too - I see them as a up and down line in my mind. Odd days like Wednesday and Friday and Saturdays are like hills and the other days are like straight lines!

Snowscreen · 09/11/2018 19:45

we This is batshit Grin

Im so glad I am not alone.

100 - good
700 - not good
19 - not good
5050 - bloody lovely

I could go on Star

I never used to like 17 until it started popping up everywhere.
I would look at my phone and notice phone battery on 17% at 17:17pm I live at number 17. Both my parents birthdays are the 17th, car reg has 17 in it. My local bus route is number 17. The door number where I work is 17. My Nan died on the 17th etc.
I looked into it more and discovered it's actually classed as an angel number that shows you are on the right track in life; sort of like a guardian angel . So as long as I keep seeing it around me, in my weird little head I know I'm safe 🤣

Rixera · 09/11/2018 19:47

@eurekastreet whaaaaat. 9 is awful. The absolute worst number, it's just trying to be 10 (and failing.)

YorkshireFatRascal · 09/11/2018 19:47

Even numbers all the way. Number 6 is my favourite . I find counting in multiples of 2 (in my head - at least I hope so!) is soothing. ÷

DoubleNegativePanda · 09/11/2018 19:48

oh my god. my people. I was just talking about this to a couple friends earlier this week and they now think I'm completely mental. I only like even numbers, and what I consider to be "even letters" although I know that's not a thing.

Letters I like:
a b c d e h j l m o s u y z

Letters I do not like:
f g i k n p q r t v w x

I agree that rounder letters and numbers are more comfortable than pokey angles and corners. Except I do like z Grin

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 09/11/2018 19:49

Love, love, love even numbers.

And 17 is hideous.

bringbackthestripes · 09/11/2018 19:51

Even numbers.
I have been know to shorten my stride to make sure I end on an even step, I have just had to take an even number of bites from a chocolate bar, I have to eat an even number of biscuits but maybe that’s just because I’m too greedy to have only one Grin

Snowscreen · 09/11/2018 19:52

and what I consider to be "even letters" although I know that's not a thing

It is, it is. Its our thing Grin

bastardkitty · 09/11/2018 19:53

Absolutely normal OP!

ShowerOfShite · 09/11/2018 19:53

I feel safer with even numbers, I find odd numbers unsettling. 4 is my favourite so I'm pleased to be 44 for now.
I also consider letters to be odd/even like DoubleNegativePanda

catsandogs · 09/11/2018 19:54

I prefer even numbers , I think it goes back to childhood and my birthday being on an even number. However I live in an odd number and many significant dates etc on our family are odd numbers and I've learnt that it doesn't matter still had the thought though

Doobydoo · 09/11/2018 19:58

I like even too..paricularly the number 8Grin However I like the number 11 and also if clock says 6.06 I usually wait until 06.11 or 06.12 etc as it 'feels' rightConfused My system is probably complex but makes sense to me!

TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot · 09/11/2018 19:59

DoubleNegativePanda I have letters I like and don't like. I even once reordered the alphabet from the worst letter to the best. I try to avoid using the worst letter as much as possible because bad things might happen.

Doobydoo · 09/11/2018 20:01

5050 makes me feel sick! I really like 17..I think because if you add the numbers you get 8. Fear not OPGrin

DoubleNegativePanda · 09/11/2018 20:02

@theincrediblebookeatingmachot what letter is the worst one? don't write it, just write it's neighbors and we'll know who the bastard is.

user564534 · 09/11/2018 20:03

I prefer odd numbers especially 5 and 7. When I fill up my car, the cost has to end in a 5 or a 7. I always thought this was a bit OCD, but maybe this sort of thing is not unusual!

DoubleNegativePanda · 09/11/2018 20:03

hmm. tagging people doesn't work if you spelled their really long name wrong! @TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot

incogKNEEto · 09/11/2018 20:04

I only like odd numbers and spiky letters, although diesel pump has to finish in 00, 25, 50 or 75...

user1471453601 · 09/11/2018 20:04

Oh goodness, I thought I was the only person in the world who has favourite numbers. My favourites are complicated because I'm addicted to killer sudoku. So, I like 125(for 8 over three cells, rather than 134). I prefer 679 for 22' over three cells (rather than 589).

And it goes on. I don't think there is any help for me, is there?

I'm a lost cause

incogKNEEto · 09/11/2018 20:04

Oh and I round up my bank accounts to whole £’s if possible Grin.

DoubleNegativePanda · 09/11/2018 20:05

I'm 42 now and not pleased to be 43 next year. It's going to feel like wearing only one sock for a whole year.

PinkAvocado · 09/11/2018 20:05

I used to think it was as simple as liking even and hating odd. But then I realised I had rules within that. 77 is ok for example but I dislike 700! I don’t dislike 17 either.

Any numbers written in purple I dislike. I have a really negative reaction to purple;
I find it repulsive and stressful. I find names have different ‘tastes’ too.

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 09/11/2018 20:06

Only like evens and 5s.
