New ninja thread!!

Becca19962014 · 01/10/2018 22:09

The other one expired and it doesn't look like anyone else has created one! So I get another barn and leslie didn't steal my victory like last time!!!

I guess technically, technically MN won the last one. However, this is MY barn.

Rules:

Feed the ninja owl(s) in the rafters, cake only. Especially me. I get hungry and cannot eat anything other than cake and no yukky healthy stuff in cake.

No discussion at all about yukky healthy food.

Um..

Did I mention I like cake???

We talk about anything and everything, except obviously healthy food.

It's not advisable to try and win the thread and mention another is about to expire because some people use it to cheat.....

I hated my school. The posh rich kids ruled the roost and were horrible to the scholarship girls (ie me and others!) and I lived on the wrong (unfashionable) side of town. No one took the bullying seriously. Girls bullying is of the psychological rather than physical type, and it just wasn't seen as serious. I am certain it has coloured me for life.

Rant over!

NKFell · 18/10/2018 23:54

I always feel sad when I hear people not liking school because for what seems like a long time (although in reality a short time!) it’s such a huge part of life. Whether verbal or physical, bullying is horrific.

Years ago a girl from school came over to me and said I was horrible to her and bullied her, I asked her how/what I’d done and it was pretty much my face(!) and ‘aloofness’ but it was awful, her saying that actually hurt me. I abhor bullying, I really do. I told her it really is just my face and in real life I’m just not outwardly friendly, I mean to be- it just doesn’t show and I have no idea why. In fact, I’d love to come across a bit more cheery and kind. I also told her that my memory of her from school was that she had amazing hair, did ballet and loved horses and that was it- I have never had any negative feelings towards this girl, she was in my form and a few lessons but we never really spoke. She’s actually become one of my friends now and if I say I’m happy about something she normally reminds me to tell my face Grin

I loved school but it was all farmers daughters! There were a few rich oned but ultimately we all had the same daily battle not to smell of animal shit and let me tell you, it’s a leveller!

NKFell · 18/10/2018 23:54

Oh and we had no idea who was scholarship and who wasn’t. I still wouldn’t be able to guess today.

Binglebong · 19/10/2018 01:10

CakeBecca. Wish I had some advice.Sad

Becca19962014 · 19/10/2018 09:59

Just checking in quickly with Cake for everyone, especially Becca. Sorry that you're still poorly.

Becca19962014 · 19/10/2018 10:36

Thankyou.

How did you manage with chronic tonsillitis? I'm doing the salt water gargling thing you mentioned. The sensation is what I'm struggling with most tbh. My throat isn't as sore as it was. GP mentioned aside reflex but I don't see how it could be that.

NK the fee payers had all been in the school since they were 3 (in the prep dept) so were well versed in the ways of the school. The scholarship girls showed up at age 11, with no idea wehere they were going or what they were doing, wearing the wrong shoes, using the wrong stationery, having an inability to speak French and having no tales to tell of skiing holidays. It was obvious!

FuzzyCustard · 19/10/2018 11:33

And we lived in the wrong place too. The fee payers got the school bus to the posh side of town...we scholarship girls got the bus or walked in the other direction!

NKFell · 19/10/2018 13:28

I bet that was horrible. Which btw in itself is ridiculous because earning a scholarship is actually more to be proud of.

Some girls went to a prep school (some distance away) but most, including me, went to the local catholic primary. I think as soon as you make kids different, you have a problem.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 20/10/2018 10:11

Becca acid reflux can have really weird symptoms. The lump feeling made me think of that too. I didn't really have major symptoms most of the time with the chronic tonsillitis. Sometimes a sore throat. But it was only really a problem when it flared up into a proper infection. I don't know if it helps at all but I use Corsodyl mouthwash for my chemo mouth ulcers and I gargle with that in case it helps my tonsils! You can buy it over the counter and there's usually an own brand version that's cheaper - the ingredient is chlorhexidine gluconate.

Fuzzy that sounds awful Sad

Becca19962014 · 20/10/2018 13:15

I've had the acid reflux for ten years and a high dose of omeprazole daily for six (I know that's massively frowned upon on MN after mentioning it on a thread about it and being flamed for not just sorting out my diet/lifestyle), but I don't understand how that could cause the swelling that can be seen in my mouth and going down my throat.

Bloody fed up with it all now. The next person who says to me "it's just a sore throat" or "why aren't you in bed then?" Ill go for. My throat isn't even sore anymore - it's literally partially blocked, eating is a fucking nightmare - the things that help a bit cause other problems, my blood sugars are all over the fucking place as is my blood pressure and temperature.

And yes Yes I'd like to be able to rest properly and sleep all day, but I can't. I need food for my diabetes and meds. I need to get meds and food. Some people just don't have the option to do nothing, the people who offer help can't actually continue doing it because they're complaining I'm not better yet (not that most bothered in the first fucking place, people constantly offered then let me down so I have to go in the middle of the night or go without). My functioning is so shit that even doing that exhausts me and I'm terrfied it'll get worse. Yes I've used taxis more to help but I can't keep doing that. Today I walked almost a mile to get my meds and go to the bank.

Angry
