New ninja thread!!

Becca19962014 · 01/10/2018 22:09

The other one expired and it doesn't look like anyone else has created one! So I get another barn and leslie didn't steal my victory like last time!!!

I guess technically, technically MN won the last one. However, this is MY barn.

Rules:

Feed the ninja owl(s) in the rafters, cake only. Especially me. I get hungry and cannot eat anything other than cake and no yukky healthy stuff in cake.

No discussion at all about yukky healthy food.

Um..

Did I mention I like cake???

We talk about anything and everything, except obviously healthy food.

It's not advisable to try and win the thread and mention another is about to expire because some people use it to cheat.....

The cauli curry was absolutely delicious.
Thinking of you as ever, Leslie

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 26/01/2019 21:47

I did go out Leslie but had my baby. As much as I love her I needed a breather. We all do. She was good though so whinging of nothing really.

Tot fell asleep last night at 5 to 7 so picked her up and took her to bed (my bed) she was all ready for bed she mustve been exhausted. Our little visitor was here for the afternoon early evening. Don't think I could've handled another overnight. I bathed them all and cooked for everyone and tidied. Im harping on...

mogloveseggs · 26/01/2019 22:55

You're not harping on real
I think it's nice to hear about people's days

leslie you’re always in my prayers and all good vibes and especially when I’m thinking of food, so obvs not much Wink Yes I do that when cooking and I think it’s called chef’s curse! Raw mushrooms are quite nice in salads, I started doing it out of laziness! I love raw onion. As a kid at a friend’s house I once took a bite of some cheese then a bit out of onion like an apple and my friend’s kitchen went silent, I assumed it was because of my terrible manners Grin but nope, they were grossed out- even better! Grin

Yes real I also like hearing what people have been up to and yes we defo need time away from DC! I was sat watching TV —showing off now— surrounded by all of them tonight, I had four children all touching me and generally bothering me so I told them all to get lost. Yes I am their Mother but Jesus, I’m also NK and NK needs rum and not to have four children stuck to me like, admittedly beautiful, leeches! ...you harp on and I’ll rant Grin

Hi mog

mogloveseggs · 27/01/2019 10:07

Yo nk
I tell mine to get lost all the time Grin
Never works they're like bloody homing pigeons Grin

mogloveseggs · 27/01/2019 10:08

Well apart from dd but even she's been coming back at the right time lately which is a huge improvement Shock

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 27/01/2019 17:56

That's great mog :)

Thanks NK I'm still hanging in there! :) haha that's exactly the kind of thing I'd have done as a child. We are kindred spirits! I'm glad I'm not the only onion-lover Grin how's the new telly?

Real I hope you get a break soon. It doesn't sound like a very relaxing weekend for you!

Glad you enjoyed the curry Fuzzy.

I played the deathbed card and we are having Chinese takeaway. It should be here soon ish. We were only going to have cheese and crackers as we had our dinner at lunchtime with my sister (it was an amazing cheese, potato and mushroom gratin thing). But I have a craving for black bean sauce.

wombattoo · 27/01/2019 18:50

Hello everyone.
I also like to hear what you've all been up to #nosey. Grin

There's not much happening here. I have been out for lunch with DH, DS and DGD. It was a carvery which was lovely and it was nice to get together.

Fuzzy loving the new name
NK your DC are so cute even if they are like limpets
mog it's good to hear that things are ok with DD
Cheshire it must be exhausting with 2 small DC's
Bingle and Becca - hope you're both doing ok Cake Cake
Leslie you know there is a special place in my heart for you Thanks Glitterball

Binglebong · 27/01/2019 21:52

Saw this and thought of you. www.telegraph.co.uk/food-and-drink/recipes/tartiflette-raclette-fondue-schnitzel-alpine-dishes-warm-cockles/

And Cake for Becca.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 27/01/2019 22:08

Mmmm lovely, Bingle :) how are you?

My Chinese takeaway was as delicious as I had anticipated. Leftovers available for anyone who wants them.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 27/01/2019 22:22

Chinese is something I never have. Trying to be good now especially get married this year. Feel like a toad at the min.

Its not relaxing, no but I think you learn to cope and survive and I take pleasures in small things. Like washing my face with my fave face oil that has a nice relaxing smell or a hot shower or bath for 10 mins

And even tho my child-free time wasnt child free my little baby really is no bother she is a joy and good as gold so I guess it was ok. We went for sunday lunch. Doing pretty well at the mo as even though my fiamce works every weekend we have managed to go out for Sunday lunch every Sunday so far this year. We have found a cheapsish but good local and for reasosn I wont bore you with I've needed to get out when I can and havent been on top of shopping etc. So its been nice to go out.

Today was good. I managed a nap for a bit while my other half took the toddler on an errand. But ssssh dont tell him. I laid down with the bab X

NKFell · 28/01/2019 15:14

Me too mog they drive me mad! I'm pleased your DD is falling in line Grin how old is she?

Leslie I am loving just having a telly! I ended up getting a 42" and I still hate it, I know the fashion is for huge TVs but it's just not my thing. I wanted a 32" max but it worked out a much better deal for the bigger. I just don't like them being the focal point of a room (blah blah blah!). We have a couple of very average Chinese Takeaways and I wouldn't care but I would say Chinese food is my favourite. I love black been sauce but Cantonese sauce is my favourite, drizzled over crispy noodles. Cheese and tomato pasta salad for lunch today, and by salad I mean they're fresh tomatoes and there's some iceberg lettuce! Thinking about raw onion has given me a craving Grin

wombat they are like limpets! They're getting worse - DS1 was supposed to go to his Dad's on Friday with DD and DS2 but he didn't want to and then neither did DD so DS2 went and he took DS3 as well (bonus!) so I had a Friday night in with DS1 and DD. Glad you enjoyed your lunch, I love family get-togethers, how old is your DGD if you don't mind me asking...also #nosey Grin

I've just had to order DS1 some new school shoes, I have no idea what he does with them, he's only had them 4 months! DD also needed some wintery playing out trainers and DS2 needed winter boots. If it wasn't for these pesky kids I'd be rich! ...well, not rich but you get the picture Grin

wombattoo · 28/01/2019 17:17

NK I don't mind you asking. I have one child - DS. He was childhood sweethearts with DGD 's mum, but they split up before DGD's 1st birthday. I always had a good relationship with DGS's mum and I have always been very close to DGD. She often slept over at ours when she was little/growing up and we took and collected her from school etc.
DGD is now 16. can hardly believe it and she has 2 siblings who are 5 and 2. They also call us grandma/grandad and we are close to them.
I think we are classed as a blended family. Grin

NKFell · 28/01/2019 18:41

It's a shame when that happens but also really lovely that you all get on. I always think I'm lucky that my DC's Dad offers to take DS3, he always says he's his children's brother and "he's not a stranger's, he's only yours". I try to take that as a compliment Grin Oh and btw, I actually love 16, I have a 16 year old niece who is a total dream! Even when she loses her temper- she stretches up on her tiptoes, widens her eyes and grits her teeth looking ferocious....then bursts into tears and runs to her room. Ahh to be a teenager!

You dont have much luck with medical staff.

Hope youre feeling better. Sorry to hewr you were in hospital.

wombattoo · 29/01/2019 18:32

How rubbish is that Becca Shock I hope today has been kinder to you Cake

Becca19962014 · 29/01/2019 18:36

Most of them were fine to be fair. However, sending a diabetic home via a taxi which was going to take up to half an hour to arrive when you know their blood sugars are very low (4.0 is borderline hypo and mine was 4.0 and dropping then) and no food is very risky. They should have at least helped stabilise my blood sugar but were, openly, more concerned about getting my bed freed up because of pressure from bed manager.

Beginning to find things more stable now.

Well, that could've been a complete disaster Shock you poor thing Becca. I am glad you're beginning to stabilise now. I hope whatever you were in hospital for has improved Cake

wombat it sounds like you've managed the whole blended family thing very well :)

NK I've not tried Cantonese sauce. They don't have that at my takeaway. And I'm not risking another new place after last week's disappointment. What is it like?

Real it's great that you're finding little moments of joy :) and the Sunday lunches sound fab - will you keep that up all year, do you think? No need to feel guilty about the nap - it sounds very well deserved!

My hospice nurse visited yesterday. She's made a few change to my medication etc. which has helped my breathing a bit. And she has booked to visit me again in two weeks, so that's a good sign, I guess. My breathing had been so bad in the few days prior to that that I thought this would be the week, to be honest. But it looks like you are stuck with me for another couple of weeks! Grin

Becca19962014 · 29/01/2019 22:17

they said it's probably "just" my condition getting worse. Which was really upsetting for me given the circumstances. They thought I'd had a heart attack or a DVT.

NKFell · 29/01/2019 23:11

leslie It’s rich, dark reddish brown and tastes to me like a more interesting sweet and sour, much richer and with garlic and ginger. I think it’s essentially garlic, onion, ginger and soy. I’m so pleased for you, I’m sure any improvement to your breathing will make you feel better. Anyway, we shouldn’t talk about breathing, I always think it makes it worse...as if it knows
