Colonoscopy advice please

I cant blinking believe it. I had a total abdo hysterectomy in June and just thinking about going back to work when a throw away comment about my poo to my gp has led to an urgent colonoscopy next week! I saw the consultant withing two days. I cant beieve it i feel fine. Im in shock he was so blunt with me. He said "your gp thinks you have cancer so you are here now" gave me a form and im waiting to hear from the clinic.

After the hysterectomy i was worried as im on my own but i coped really well. The clinic are telling me i cant get a taxi home on my own or be left on my own! I cant ask any of my friends they did enough last time.

Anyway, please tell me what its like? Theyve sent be a big box of something that i darent even look at.

Can't seem to stop myself from up after I've drunk some of this Klean-Prep stuff. Not sure it's gonna work. The vanilla flavour is horrid.

How are you holding up?

I put a load of Robinsons in my Moviprep its making it bearable i use a big straw and have a glass of apple juice ready. Its the amount though. Ive only had two glasses

Yeah I agree the amount doesn't help! Nearly been 2 hours now and I still haven't pooped so I've swollen up with 2 litres of this Prep stuff in my belly haha

I know im sat here wondering if i can have a g and t tonight! We will probably feel terrible by tonight.

2 hours? Crikey mine got going after about 45 mins.

It's pineapple flavour here (not in the UK)...yum, not. I agree it's the amount. I measured it out - a glass every 15 mins. Glugged it if I could bear it.

They couldn't get all the way round on my scope - gave me a bit of extra sedation and I was off my tits. Had a good cry when I woke up in recovery. DH said everyone coming out was in tears so don't be alarmed.

That's so different to the one I've got to take! I've got to drink every 15 minutes this crap tasting stuff for 4 hours, only an hour to go.

Still waiting to poop...

My first lot took 3 hours till I was ready to rumble.

Can we drink black tea in the morning?

i'm sure mine said nothing other than a sip of water to take meds the morning of the procedure.

I think black tea would be fine if you are on Klean-Prep as mine says no liquids 2 hours before the appointment and black tea is on the allowed list of liquids so as long as it's 2 hours before?

NO to tea .Water only once you have finished the treatment/before the procedure.

Makes the cup of tea afterwards more welcome.

Its two hours away so im not even having water at this point. My stomach looks lovely like it did after my hysterectomy. Im going to try and stay off the wheat after this.

Well had mine done and now they are saying I need a CT scan to do further investigations
