Following on from the Victorian dresses thread, which I found most interesting. Have you got any old photos to share? Victorian times to the 1950's? Would love to see them if you have.

This one is of my great great grandma, she was born in 1840, I'm not sure how old she was in this one, I'm guessing 40 ish?

@Vitalogy
He was a signalman with the local railway.
Sadly everyone who could tell me about this foto is dead now.
The young man on the left was so proud of his bike.

My grandparents in the 40's. My uncle and dad in the late 40's and great grandparents in Italy, date unknown

Another one: my great great gandparents. They both died before 1903, I have no idea when this foto was taken. He was described as being a ploughman by profession.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/08/2018 19:37

oops!

Vitalogy · 19/08/2018 19:37

Ah, the little sailor outfits.

Your great grandparents picture looks like a painting DesperatelySeekingSnoozing? I think they used to do that though, part photo part painting.

Apparently it's two different pictures put together. This was common back then apparently.

@DesperatelySeekingSnoozing
Yes, I've got a couple of those, too.
And some where the fotographer coloured the fotos in - with ink.

Have you seen this? The styles look Edwardian (to my untrained eye), but the negatives were on glass.
