How to blog 😊

Hi there - I've seen a lot of threads on here with advice on how to blog so I thought, why not let's help each other. I thought that if everyone posted the link to their blog here, we could review one another's blog. Maybe keep it simple and state one thing you liked about the blog, one thing you would perhaps consider changing, and then an overall impression (good and I 'liked' the page/good but not for me/thank you for sharing but not my cup of tea ☺️). For anyone who sends me feedback, I'll do the same 😊 So here's my page - only on FB right now but open to the public. Thanks so much for reading m.facebook.com/Chroniclesofacorporatemum/

Hi Yrias - and everyone else who's posted! I've just seen this thread, so hopefully I'm not too late :)

I really liked your blog Yrias! The photos all look really good, and the layout's really clear and nicely formatted too. I'm working my way through your posts, and so far have fully read your one on all of the different smells that you remember and really enjoyed it :) I really like your writing style, and the topic of your post was really original and clever. Looking forward to reading more of your writing!

I write a blog called French Affliction - it's a travel, lifestyle and language blog about France and French-speaking countries. The blog can be accessed here, and I've also just set up a new Facebook page here. I'd be grateful if you had any advice or tips please!

PamplemousseRouge · 19/02/2017 04:09

Sorry, everyone! I thought the thread still only had one page, so Yrias's post was the last post that I saw before posting here. I'll definitely have a look at all the other ones as well that I've missed!

MoxiousWhimsy · 21/02/2017 09:37

ShiDoe I like the new look, I think it's a lot more inviting. Again though, it's just my personal preference! Very much like the new name too, although I also liked the old one as well, in a gently anarchic way Smile

Scottishmuminlondon · 22/02/2017 18:48

Hi everyone
I'm so glad I found this chat if people are still looking. I've set up a blog called www.scottishmuminlondon.com. I predominantly started to write because of the trouble I experienced breastfeeding but I am going to make it more of a lifestyle blog as time goes on. I hope you enjoy the read Smile x

Hi all. I have literally just started blogging about my experience of miscarriage/babyloss and all it entails.

All your blogs look so expertly created! I'm just winging it at the moment so I'd love some feedback for if you have the time:

Hi,
my lovely bloggers fellows:) I started my blog about 6/7 months ago (www.ohmummymia.com) do you have any tips how to grow a traffic? I read that someone started blog couple days ago and have 2000 visits. Don't know ow to do that. Any advises?

rabbitideas · 19/03/2017 13:57

Hi FrazzleRock, your blog is lovely, very well laid out and easy to navigate. Miscarriage is a topic close to my heart, too, glad you are blogging to increase awareness!

Ohmummymia, I have nowhere near that level of followers, but if you are looking for tips of traffic via social media, search for Sunny Lenarduzzi on Youtube and watch a few of her videos, I have found her advice very useful. Hope that helps!

FrazzleRock · 20/03/2017 17:14

Thank you so much rabbit Smile

ohmummy I managed to acquire over 2000 views in less than a week just by promoting on FB (and making my posts public), also on Instagram, Twitter, and on support groups I am in. I am still learning though as I only started a week and a half a go. I also contacted a blogzine who allowed me to post on their website and then on their FB page. I love the look of your blog by the way!

Mammatojack17 · 29/04/2017 23:18

Thecorporatemum, it's quite a common thing on good SEO blogs. You open a thread and ask to get opinion on design/usability/seo-tips. Stuff like that. Or yo could arrange to exchange the comments. As for doing it here. Wel, it's not that many people here. And rules do not allow to post links...

MooMooTheFirst · 27/05/2017 08:19

I'm in awe of most of your blogs, particularly the muslimmummas style and posts, ive not read anything similar to it.

I'm pretty new to blogging and originally started it intending it to be a parenting blog, but it has morphed more into a mental health one... do you think that will put people off?

My website is here

I find most of my traffic comes from
Instagram but I do have a small Facebook page too that I struggle to promote. Any tips?

It's all about daily habits. here are some habit that will get you start blogging:

  1. open words first.
  2. choose the topic .
  3. write the heading, subheading, bullet points.

Hi guys, you all have some wonderful blogs. We have some very talented writers here.
I have decided now is the time to take my blog seriously and write regularly. I started writing in 2014 but would go months without writing. My older blog posts are horrible, the grammar is really bad but I have since taken some writing courses.
I really do not know how to promote my blog. I write about everything really but mainly about parenting. Any tips are much appreciated.
Here is my blog

Hello, I have just recently starting blogging as a creative outlet and also because I don't spend a lot of times with adults. Needed someone to talk to so I talk to the computer :). My blog is a humorous spin on parenting with some talk on food, TV & Film. Film is a huge passion of mine. Feel free to check it out and follow.

How to blog 😊
beckythomas · 05/10/2017 12:25

Hi,

Blogging is easy if you are looking to just blog. If you are looking for more web traffic to your blog and make some serious money out of it, it takes some effort.

I will just describe you on getting started with a blog. Firstly, you need to decide on a theme for blog - whether its a food blog or travel or anything that you like. Next is choosing the right platform for blogging. Various platform offers different features. For instance, wordpress offers better features for extension of the blog and to take it to next level. If you are looking for something simple, go for blogger from google. My personal favorite is Wix due to the ease of use and interface.

Once you decide on the platform, create an account in there and start writing. The key is to write and post something in the lines of the area of the blog. You can then share them on social media sites like Facebook groups, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest etc.

In this way you can get started. Once you get started, you will explore and find more. All the best :)

I'd like some friendly tips on my blog. I'm not sure how to transition into making it into a money earner for me:
