No. HIS NMAE IS BRIAN COX. They call him professor so we don't think they mean that other one.

When Professor Brian Cox (who is a real professor) was on QI he said that the most common mispronunciation of the Large Hadron Collider was the Large Hard-On Colluder.

I don't fancy him hugely but I do find him funny.

I really don't see what's not to get - they refer to him as PBC because thats who he is, not so we realise it's not the other BC (who I have never heard of)

If you think they use the Professor prefix just so you know which one they mean, do you also think they refer to Sir Richard Branson so you don't think it's the bloke from our paper shop/uncle Jim's mate etc etc?

Dame, Dr, The Reverend, Professor - what's the difference - you use the persons title when you are talking about them/introducing them

I thought he was being a pretentious bugger and I couldn't understand why they didn't just say "physics expert Brian Cox" or whatever. Not ever single expert they get on the tele is professor this or doctor that.

See I know a Dr so and so and I just call him John. And I know a professor and don't call her by anything except her first name.

Sadly, because I am Home Alone tonight, I've just watched him on TOTP on 6 January 1994. Who is he please? He simply can't be the bassist with the locks. The drummer possibly but the face didn't look right? The keyboards guy is too large framed. And he cannot be the weasley looking singer.

Brian Cox - Scottish actor - played Hannibal Lecter - also in the Bourne films.
