Some of you may already have caught wind of our Mumsnet Bloggers Network but we want you ALL to know about it - because we're on the hunt. We want to find new voices, encourage loads of Mumsnetters to start blogging and provide a network for those that already do.

Whether you're a seasoned writer or a plucky newbie, we're here to help you blog better and share in any revenue you generate through our network.

And you're here to tell us what you think! We'd love to get your thoughts, quibbles and suggestions for the network, and answer any burning questions (as best we can). But if you just want to get straight on with joining, do jump on to the registration form.

@TottWriter

Thanks Elinor!

As I said, it wasn't a big issue for me, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten to do something. I can believe that it must be a massive job if you're doing it all blog by blog! Still, at least that way you know nothing inappropriate is going to slip through the net.

Keep up the good work!

That's the idea! We want to read everything thoroughly and make sure all links work so that the live network is smooth. This is the hump, but then we just get on with the pressing business of making you all famous. Grin

thanks Elinor - not that I'm even counting on being accepted, would just like to know, one way or t'other.

you must be swamped.

MamaSays · 13/07/2011 23:13

What happens if you get rejected? Does MN give us a sticker and a lolly or something? This is worse than waiting for GCSE results www.mamasays.co.uk

ElinorMumsnetBloggers · 14/07/2011 11:38

A consolation prize? Now there's a thought. Nah, we're hoping there won't be too many blogs that don't fit with our network. And whenever we have a reason, we'll explain why in a note. We are always open to revisiting a blog further down the line - we want the network to be inclusive and supportive. So there's really no reason to fear us! GCSE Physics was much worse...

belledechocchipcookie · 14/07/2011 21:08

So can I just link my ramblings blog to this page??

belledechocchipcookie · 14/07/2011 21:09

CheeseandGherkins · 15/07/2011 08:22

Linking mine too just in case as I'm still waiting!

So, I just started my blog last night, spurred on by all this talk of a blog network. What do I do? Get it going a bit then apply to join? How do I keep it separate from my Mn username? I haven't yet decided how anonymous I'm going to make my blog yet?

DirtyMartini · 17/07/2011 19:53

Bumper, I'm not sure but I think you can apply straight away, but that it's best to keep posting regularly in order to ensure there is enough content building up to give the MN bods an idea of what sort of thing you're doing :) I'm sure Elinor or someone will come on with more detailed info soon though.

As for keeping it separate from your MN username: nothing about your network membership will link your blog to your MN name. When your posts appear on the bloggers page feed they won't be connected to your nn in any way. So in that respect, it is totally up to you how much you reveal here.

It is nice to be able to post in the bloggers topic about what you're doing, chat about questions and get advice and stuff. I suppose you could do that under your usual name without ever linking to your blog, but often people like to share links to their stuff here, so you could consider having a namechange that you use just for this topic in order to give yourself the freedom to link. Only trouble with that is the minor hassle of remembering to namechange back and forth.

Hope you're enjoying it so far :)

BumperlicicusTotalus · 17/07/2011 20:31

Thanks Martini, I've applied. I do have a name change for linking. To be honest it'll be fairly easy to make the connection but I just don't want to make it too easy for any potential stalker!

Hi Bumper and thanks DirtyMartini - this is spot on! We're very open to new blogs, although it does help to apply when you have half a dozen or so, so we can get a sense of the tone and topic (and level of commitment Smile). One of the big aims of the network is to nurture new bloggers, and we have all sorts of plans for that as soon as we've finished all the launch work. So I'm happy you've applied, Bumper.

BumperlicicusTotalus · 18/07/2011 20:43

Thanks for the reply Elinor :)

CheeseandGherkins · 21/07/2011 08:42

Still waiting to hear something and I applied at the beginning of this month. Don't want to be a pain but any idea on timescale?

ElinorMumsnetBloggers · 21/07/2011 13:55

You're not being a pain - this is a good question! I'm trying my darndest to get through it for Monday, with the last batch next week. Have we got your application? Would you mind sending the link to [email protected] so we can be sure? Thanks and so sorry about the wait.

CheeseandGherkins · 21/07/2011 20:31

Thanks, sure I'll do that, I definitely sent the application as I have an automated email from it :) My link is further up but I'll send it to that email now.

TimeSculptor · 05/08/2011 19:41

@MmeLindor... I started my blog with Blogger in June and have found some bugs in the system, but managed to make it work reasonably well so far. I heard lots of people had moved to WP, do you find it works better there?

ChloeGreene · 19/08/2011 13:57

Hello

I submitted my blog about three weeks ago and have not heard back from you about whether it can be part of Mumsnet bloggers.

It's called The Chronicles of Chloe Greene and here is the link:
northof59-gloriesandpitfallsofageing.blogspot.com/

Grateful for an update.

All best,
Chloe Greene

Dillydaydreaming · 28/08/2011 12:09

So it must be at least 10 weeks now since I applied to join the bloggers network here and to date all I've had is a response telling me they have had the application. Since then bugger all - not even a "Dear Dilly, thanks but no thanks, you're not rich enough, well known enough, not middle class Mummy enough" response.

Is it only restricted to TV producers and presenters/journalists and media darlings? Or am I being a bit premesntrual and precious about it all?

MmeLindor. · 28/08/2011 18:02

DillyDally
I am neither famous nor rich, nor a media darling and my blog is on the network. I don't know if MNHQ regularly check this thread, but if you press "report this post" they will have a look I am sure.

The same goes for you, Chloe. Give them a shout, they have been snowed under with Blog applications.

Timesculpture
I just noticed that you asked me a question - sorry. I do find WP better. They have recently changed the picture uploading which makes it easier to insert a pic. Other than that, I wanted to self-host (ie. that my blog name is www.saltandcaramel.com rather than www.saltandcaramel.blogspot.com) as it looks better.

Tee2072 · 28/08/2011 19:10

Wait, I am suppose to be famous, rich and in the media??? I'd better quit the network!

Seriously, send MN an email or report your post. You'll get a faster response, although perhaps not on a Sunday evening!
