Some of you may already have caught wind of our Mumsnet Bloggers Network but we want you ALL to know about it - because we're on the hunt. We want to find new voices, encourage loads of Mumsnetters to start blogging and provide a network for those that already do.

Whether you're a seasoned writer or a plucky newbie, we're here to help you blog better and share in any revenue you generate through our network.

And you're here to tell us what you think! We'd love to get your thoughts, quibbles and suggestions for the network, and answer any burning questions (as best we can). But if you just want to get straight on with joining, do jump on to the registration form.

Thanks for asking, DirtyMartini. Well, we're still standing Confused. As is the new site, which is the main thing . We're very excited it's finally here, and thrilled that things went smoothly.

We've had lots of lovely feedback, but I'd welcome all input - the good, the bad and the downright ugly - as it's a work in progress. But it's great to finally get your blogs out there. And we're really enjoying reading all the new applications. So keep em coming!

Quick question...the MN button we now have and love links to the registration page rather than the front sheet. A fab front sheet btw. Can we have code to update the button pls or can you do something whizzy at MN towers? Thanks. Am v thrilled at the way our posts are plastered all over the front page btw. Will have to think of terribly droll opening lines now...

Thanks! I'm so glad you like the new page and badge. To answer your q: All new members will have a badge that automatically links to the front page, but it's a bit fiddlier for us to do that for the pre-launch crew. But we'll yabber to tech about the easiest option and then I'll let you all know in the weekly update. Sound OK?

Oh, and yes: you're all famous now. And you can make those headlines as droll as you like Wink.

Have asked in Site stuff as well but will ask here because I am ridiculously behind the times and didn't really notice this was all going on - have you deactivated all the previous blogs that we had on MN? Are they lost for good? Because I rather liked being able to point people in the direction of mine when they were asking about raspberry leaf tea, for example. I know I hadn't had anything inspiring to add for a couple of years but I didn't realise it was something that you had to update regularly!

Please can I have my MN blog back?

Hi there. It would be brilliant to get you blogging again. As part of this project we've closed blogs that haven't been updated for a long time. We're also disabling our current blogging platform on 1st September and helping our bloggers to hop onto another platform instead. Can we persuade you to do the same? There are several great hosts available, with bells and whistles to make it all easier. I'll happily do it - I'd quite like to get back into the blogging thing, I got sidetracked by a book I was working on - but I'd be really grateful if you could get my old stuff back for me, please. :)

When I heard of this I set up my own blog here rhubarbsguidetolife.wordpress.com/ which is very very good (imo of course!) and I have emailed the bloggers network twice now, plus my application, to ask if my blog has been accepted.

I'm considering getting the huff. Is it coz I don't have recipes? Or knitting patterns? Or an exciting sex life?

Argh, Rhubarb0! Hold off on the huff! It's just because we haven't had a chance to check out your application, though I'll definitely jump onto the blog link below (thanks for that!). We're trying to get through as fast as we can, but we're sorry it's taking a bit of time.

I tweeted you earlier about the bloggers network front page. With the fab photo links at the top (which I am honoured to have a post linked to on!), it just links to the blog home page, not to the post it refers to. If someone's clicked to see a particular post, they'll want to go straight to it, won't they?

Yep, definitely. We just want to introduce the blogs and bloggers this week with hooks from recent posts. So we want to invite people to scroll down. But we'll also link to individual posts when we want to direct attention to particular topics. I agree that it can be confusing when the headline doesn't relate to the most recent post, and we'll try to watch for that. Thanks for mentioning this.

Can I make a practical suggestion to MumsnetHQ? That you change the order of the registration form. I filled it all in, then got asked to login and it made me start all over again. You might be losing people who are doing it whilst juggling toddlers and pre school runs... ;) Cheers.

bianca - yes, not meaning to start a moan exactly, but how long after we get the acceptance e-mail will it take to appear on the A-Z? I got mine, and a link to put a badge on my site, but I'm not in the blog feed on the site yet.

Is this something that there have been issues with? It's not a problem if so, but a little more information on what will be happening when would be good, just so that I know I haven't missed some vital step somewhere. Grin

Hi there - We will clear all elements of the backlog this week. We've been showered with brilliant applications, but we realise it's frustrating to have to wait like this, and I'm so sorry. It's the top priority . And the end is in sight!

Once we've accepted a blogger, someone here activates the profile and adds them to the site. So there's no technical issue here - just a mild, erm, traffic jam, caused by the application influx. That said, all newbies will be processed ASAP this week too. So hang in there and thanks for your patience (and enthusiasm).

Quick suggestion... Can you set it so a blog opens in a new window when u click on it from the main page. It's a bit Hmm when u lose yr original window. Or maybe I'm being fussy. Probably am.

As I said, it wasn't a big issue for me, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten to do something. I can believe that it must be a massive job if you're doing it all blog by blog! Still, at least that way you know nothing inappropriate is going to slip through the net.

That's the idea! We want to read everything thoroughly and make sure all links work so that the live network is smooth. This is the hump, but then we just get on with the pressing business of making you all famous. Grin

A consolation prize? Now there's a thought. Nah, we're hoping there won't be too many blogs that don't fit with our network. And whenever we have a reason, we'll explain why in a note. We are always open to revisiting a blog further down the line - we want the network to be inclusive and supportive. So there's really no reason to fear us! GCSE Physics was much worse...

Bumper, I'm not sure but I think you can apply straight away, but that it's best to keep posting regularly in order to ensure there is enough content building up to give the MN bods an idea of what sort of thing you're doing :) I'm sure Elinor or someone will come on with more detailed info soon though.

As for keeping it separate from your MN username: nothing about your network membership will link your blog to your MN name. When your posts appear on the bloggers page feed they won't be connected to your nn in any way. So in that respect, it is totally up to you how much you reveal here.

It is nice to be able to post in the bloggers topic about what you're doing, chat about questions and get advice and stuff. I suppose you could do that under your usual name without ever linking to your blog, but often people like to share links to their stuff here, so you could consider having a namechange that you use just for this topic in order to give yourself the freedom to link. Only trouble with that is the minor hassle of remembering to namechange back and forth.

Hi Bumper and thanks DirtyMartini - this is spot on! We're very open to new blogs, although it does help to apply when you have half a dozen or so, so we can get a sense of the tone and topic (and level of commitment Smile). One of the big aims of the network is to nurture new bloggers, and we have all sorts of plans for that as soon as we've finished all the launch work. So I'm happy you've applied, Bumper.
