Some of you may already have caught wind of our Mumsnet Bloggers Network but we want you ALL to know about it - because we're on the hunt. We want to find new voices, encourage loads of Mumsnetters to start blogging and provide a network for those that already do.

Whether you're a seasoned writer or a plucky newbie, we're here to help you blog better and share in any revenue you generate through our network.

And you're here to tell us what you think! We'd love to get your thoughts, quibbles and suggestions for the network, and answer any burning questions (as best we can). But if you just want to get straight on with joining, do jump on to the registration form.

Cyber who? Grin Nah, we're big fans of CyberMummy, but we're doing something a little bit different with our network (which we've been tinkering with for a couple of months now). We're basically looking to give bloggers a wider audience through Mumsnet, which is already stuffed with talented voices and folks who appreciate great writing. So we just want to bring together some fabulous homemade blogs from our community and some established names - on everything from parenting to politics to, erm, pies. Simple! < head spinning >

I joined the network a few weeks ago. Possibly months. My sense of time is waft. Anyway, can you tell me exactly how it will work? Because AT&T he moment, I have a badge on my blog bringing people here, but there is nothing here bringing people there, iyswim.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 27/06/2011 13:48

That should say at the moment. The iPad seems obsessed with AT&T.

Hi there. Thanks for joining! We plan to promote great writing, and to promote your blogs to the MN audience and to each other. So we?ll be offering a lot of ways to do that, and we?ll also be sharing tips on how to improve your blog and build your audience. We?ve been collecting interested bloggers while we prepared to go live, and we?ll be ready to get going very soon . So I?ll be in touch with network members this week with full plans.

Harrumph! Just sent a message and it disappeared.

Take 2

Can I ask a question please? I've read a couple of blogs from on here and quite fancy giving it a go. But would anyone be interested in the ramblings of a mum with a 2 year old and a 7 month old, who is trying to lose a lot of lard, and wants one day to get back to candle making?

ElinorMumsnetBloggers · 27/06/2011 15:01

Yes! We all need more candles in our lives. That?s the fun - and the power - of blogging: people create them for all sorts of reasons. Why not give it a whirl? You could check out our guide to all things blog as a starter, and see if it grabs you.

purplepidjin · 27/06/2011 18:17

I asked to join when I first started my blog, was told to blog more, did so, emailed again and nothing. I'm a bit irregular (work long shifts) but do manage 4 a month...

Please may someone have a look and see if I'm good enough yet? Thank you

ElinorMumsnetBloggers · 27/06/2011 18:31

Absolutely. I'm so sorry about the delayed reply. We've been a bit swamped, but I'll get back to you this evening.

PerAr6ua · 27/06/2011 18:37

Ah. Does this mean revealing my secret identity though?

purplepidjin · 27/06/2011 18:39

No rush, just wanted to know what to do to improve!

Sorry, I figured if you'd stickied it you'd got rid of the worst of the backlog Smile

ElinorMumsnetBloggers · 27/06/2011 18:55

I wish! But we're blasting through it, and it's good to have a full inbox. Confused

purplepidjin · 27/06/2011 19:16

Thank you! I now have a big fat MN badge on my blog!! Grin

And I'm kicking myself for not living near Kentish Town Sad Need anyone darn sarf with a decent internet connection? Wink

MmeLindor. · 28/06/2011 08:14

Purple
Loved your post about wheelchair users.

Grinning
Go for it. There are a LOT of blogs about parenting out there so having an interesting hobby would make your blog stand out.

purplepidjin · 28/06/2011 09:04

Merci, Mmme. Unfortunately it's playing silly buggers again and won't let me reply!

MmeLindor. · 28/06/2011 09:11

Blogger has been having problems over the past couple of months. It was part of the reason I moved to WP.

EdnaTheInebriate · 28/06/2011 09:21

It would 'out' people no? That is something i have to consider...hmmm.

EdnaTheInebriate · 28/06/2011 09:23

Maybe i should just get over myself? Grin Just wondering if anyone else has this dilema...

MmeLindor. · 28/06/2011 09:25

What do you mean Edna?

EdnaTheInebriate · 28/06/2011 09:28

Well my blog has my real name on it...while i'd love to be a member of the blogging network it would 'out' me to do so. So it's a consideration for me. I don't mind it the other way i.e. other readers of my blog seeing i'm an MNer (out and proud) Grin

MmeLindor. · 28/06/2011 09:31

Ah, I see.

I blog anonymously, not because I am ashamed of what I write, but I feel that my family deserve to have some privacy. My DH is not even on FB, he does not exist online.

When I take photos of my DC, I take them so that they cannot be identified.

Perhaps over-cautious but I prefer to preserve my family's privacy. I use the same name on MN and Twitter as on blog.

purplepidjin · 28/06/2011 09:44

I'm the other way round, I blog to promote my business, although I do seem to have developed a rather alarming habit of ranting about the day job Blush and the actual business-promotion side of things is a little, shall we say, oblique?!

But then I'm easier to google as Purple Pidjin than I am by my real name, which I rarely own up to online Confused

purplepidjin · 28/06/2011 09:44

And I don't think my cat and rabbit are too worried about paedos Wink

Tee2072 · 28/06/2011 09:45

I'm just the opposite from MmeL. My real name is on my blog, I use it on FB, I post pictures of my husband and my son (and others, with their permission).

I also have my company blog and my personal blog connected via my Blog Roll and, of course, my company blog also has ways to contact me on it!

It all depends on what you're comfortable with, really. I have a personal opinion that there is no privacy left anyway, so why try to hide? Smile
