How much does your Chinese take away cost?

Just two of us tonight, we had

Special fried rice
Chicken with ginger and spring onion
Crispy chilli beef
Chicken balls

£42 from the average take away. It was very nice but if the kids were here (bottomless pit teens) we would have been pushing £100 for a bog standard take away.

It's interesting that you collected it and it was still so pricey. We can't do Deliveroo anymore as whatever we get it's£50/£60 at least. Last time we got takeaway I walked to the Chinese to order it and was £35 for around seven dishes which fed us the next day too. I swore I was never using Deliveroo again, ridiculous prices. A lamb kebab is £25 from our usual place now.

I've had people accused me of lying on this sort of thread before and being a bit "Mumsnet chicken" about it all... ours is quite a beige Chinese takeaway but last night was £65 for 10 - 4 adults, 6 kids (13 and under). Takeaways just aren't that pricey round here (East Mids)

From our local Chinese for that order £41.75 collected. They don't do deliveries.

South Manchester to give location context

Last night had no cash on me for our local and was only me and my 11 year old in so used one off just eat. Was 9.95 for a big box with fried rice with crispy chicken and crispy duck on top, with tub of curry sauce, added a portion of chips and salt and chilli mini spring rolls, was £22 with delivery, and just put more than half in the bin as it was massive portions.

Thought my dh would eat it when he got in but he's not touched it.
