Not terrified as there's so many ways to get sick and I haven't got it in me to worry about them all. Wary yes. Very sad when I think of the well known people who have died horribly early at the same age as me now.

What makes you happy OP?

Have I passed the skin elasticity point in terms of having loads of weight to lose but (at my age) ending up with tons of slack skin.

Or am I just making excuses to myself to avoid losing the weight?

Chocolate. Sunny blue skies. Birds tweeting in Spring. Being in or on the sea. Hiking the mountains alone. Cwtching with my cat. Cuddles with my husband. Singing at the top of my lungs whenever the fancy takes me.

I always err towards everything in modesty and being generally healthy with the odd splurge. No expert here but I imagine slow steady weight lost for health reasons is best.

How much root can I prune off a pot-bound Japanese white pine tree whilst keeping it healthy?
