At all. No spaghetti bolognese, lasagne or shepherds pie for me, unless it’s made with chunks of meat or veggie.

Never have liked it and the thought of it makes me proper queasy.

AMA.

It’s absolutely not mocking that thread.

But that thread did prompt me to start this one. As it’s quite an uninteresting thing about me.

Turns out people are interested, and that they are in the other one as well, so lesson learned for me.

@woodenbroomer

It's mocking the current AMA thread from the asexual poster. Just horrible and needless
Its odd because I didn't know about the other thread until posters here, starting accusing op of mocking it.

You seem to have made the assumption its mocking it.

Despite mince and asexuality not being common bedfellows.

woodenbroomer · 22/09/2021 16:47

You decided to make a thread with a silly topic prompted by you thinking that the subject of the other thread was uninteresting. That poster is talking about their experience and desires in an area fundamental to human happiness. And you decided to talk about mince. Have a word with yourself OP.

woodenbroomer · 22/09/2021 16:48

OP admits the other thread prompted her to make this one @nyktipolos. It's really quite sad.

nyktipolos · 22/09/2021 16:50

@woodenbroomer

OP admits the other thread prompted her to make this one *@nyktipolos*. It's really quite sad.
Prompted and mocking are 2 different things though, are they not?
WhatsAppening · 22/09/2021 16:51

No, I’d been meaning to do an AMA about my mince issue for a while (mainly because I thought it might be quite funny, and posters didn’t disappoint).

And reading the other thread reminded me to do it.

There’s no other link.

And I was only prickly to the OP of the other thread because I’m surrounded by Demiromantic pansexual blue haired teenagers (who are ALL in boring old Herero relationships) and the whole labelling perfectly normal things makes me twitch.

Im going to post this there by way of apology as it turns out there was a genuine discussion to be had there.

I’m the exact same - memories of gristley grey chewy mince has put me massively off. I like almost all other meat but won’t even try anything with mince

woodenbroomer · 22/09/2021 17:02

Prompted and mocking are 2 different things though, are they not?

They are, if indeed the OP had just been prompted. But she's admitted this thread is an uninteresting fact about her, prompted by other OP's seemingly uninteresting personal fact. Only it's not uninteresting, it's about her life and happiness. It's mocking, it's mean and uncalled for.

OP of course might have had a burning desire to post about an AMA not liking mince for a while....

Cocolapew · 22/09/2021 17:02

I couldn't kiss Tom Hardy, he has lips like liver.
I do like liver though so I'm not sure why he repulses me so much 🤔

weegiemum · 22/09/2021 17:07

I hate it.

Was made to eat it at school in the late 70s and there was a bad batch - cue half the school off with food poisoning. I haven't touched it since.

Though I can force myself to cook it for dc, I make nice spaghetti Bol I'm told.

Love things like chilli, shepherds pie etc made with lentils, I think it's mainly a texture thing with me.

PhiRhoSigma · 22/09/2021 17:08

Omg, I have thought that about Tom Hardy since he first came to fame in that star trek film!! All my DDs think he's gorgeous, I just see the liver lips and shudder.

Cocolapew · 22/09/2021 17:12

We shall be repulsed together PhiRhoSigma, safe in the knowledge that we are right.

TrifleCat · 22/09/2021 17:20

MINCE?/NO

This is my favourite thing now.

I genuinely might add it to my email signature!

OP - thank you for sharing your minceries
with us (shall I get my coat??)

SpittinKitten · 22/09/2021 17:36

I'm revising the MINCE?/NO. idea because it might be misconstrued by some people as being impolite.

Instead, I'd suggest MINCE?/NO THANK YOU .

StColumbofNavron · 22/09/2021 17:38

Can we just get back to the Tom Hardy liver lips discussion?

Cocolapew · 22/09/2021 17:41

:shudder:

I don’t like mince.
DogFoodPie · 22/09/2021 17:45

How do you stand on the question of whether to rinse your mince?

PhiRhoSigma · 22/09/2021 17:47

Yes, well, I recognise this is a minority view, but it's that upper lip. Too large and sort of square, no? Less of a trout pout, more of an offal orifice.

StColumbofNavron · 22/09/2021 17:51

I do like trout too, not as much as mince - I think it’s less versatile.

OccultGnuAsWell · 22/09/2021 17:53

When I saw that picture of Tom Hardy I let out an involuntary "eeeww".

Tom Ellis on the other hand . . .that's another noise entirely.

StColumbofNavron · 22/09/2021 17:59

I want to be very clear. I am in the Tom Ellis queue too - and I’d also like say that Turkey and chicken mince are rank.

TheQueef · 22/09/2021 18:02

Rinsing mince should be compulsory, legislated for perhaps.

I don't see the fuss about this Tom Hardy.
So I'm countering with a lovely STWC.

I don’t like mince.
OccultGnuAsWell · 22/09/2021 18:02

StColumbofNavron

I was here first!

RiotAtTheRodeo · 22/09/2021 18:03

Tom Ellis is a rat.

I'll have Tom Selleck if forced to pick a Tom. A mere 36 years my senior.
